The most obvious thing was, sub in goddamn Rash and Sancho! Rash is the first player at his age I see so much mentally stable and resilient under pressure and he has stable performances, while Sancho is simply England's best player - he proves it by being on par with the big names in the Bundesliga where the most goals are scored out of the big leagues and total football is no joke. They don't bump top players around for big money like the Prem - Giroud downhill since going there, Lloris, Alcacèr, Gabbiadini, Lamela, Deloufeu etc have all buried their potential in the Prem.
Instead Southgate chose to play England's most overrated - Kane and Sterling. Reddit was full of people saying after Sterling scored in the Germany game, "well who else, only him". You've got a team of overpriced, arrogant youngsters who think they can play but then everybody is holding their breath until Sterling comes forward. And where are Caulker, Barkley, Oxlade, Welbeck, Kazim Richards, and the like? In all the past years I thought they were bringing it home but nobody talks about them anymore.
As if they didn't toss Churchill away with the ease they brought him in after screwing them and the whole (western) world over irreparably, they invited May, Cameron and Bojo to repeat it although in a smaller scale. They are liable for dragging the whole world in an unnecessary war and when called out, they call you back a petulant child. And now it's twice Southgate has screwed over brexity England and they seem to like it. They also think they are stronger than the whole EU and they can offset all the money they previously received from us by selling baby clothes, condoms, fish and Man City shirts and trading with the Sandwich Islands.
What is wrong with those people? Isolationism is a helluva drug.
