Apparently they can but obviously the instructions aren't gonna tell you what to do to make then more lethal. Sounds very risky

Absolutely don't do it this way. It's a horrendous way to die. Not guaranteed death and excruciating pain. I heard a story of a man who was poisoned twice by his wife but didn't know what it was until he caught her the 3rd time. It was the worst pain of his life.

ANYONE CONSIDERING THIS METHOD, DO NOT DO IT!

No there isn't. If you intend to OD then read the PPeH or read about other methods in the Suicide Resource Compilation.

I tried it and it didn't work. I was 14 years old at the time and my depression was very deep. I had an anxiety attack and took the poison in the middle of the night. I had a heart attack and didn't die. Only the doctor knows it was a suicide attempt. And damn, it hurt so much. I agonized for hours, until my parents found me and took me to the hospital. My saturation was at 79%, blood pressure 5/4 and heart rate 298. I recommend using SN. It's the method I'm going to try now. It seems quieter and relatively painless.
In addition to the mental problems I had at the time, I got one more: post-traumatic stress disorder.

Holy crap, SN may not be the best method out there but it's got a good chance of being better than rat poison for sure, that being said, I've seen stories of kids taking rat poison to ctb, and some took hours to ctb while others have been found dead.

Woah, woah, your heart was 298? That's well into Ventricular Fibrillation which is 200-500 bpm and that causes unconscious within a few seconds.

How badly on a scale of 1-50.

Because of the rat poison ctb attempt I imagine.

As much as I get this, things like this require a great amount of forethought and planning

40, for sure. I remember feeling like my entire body was burning.
And exactly, I had ventricular fibrillation! I had forgotten the name. I would say I was kind of unconscious. They told me I fainted, but I could hear people talking and still fell the pain. I had 3 cardiac arrests, until the medication took effect and the heartbeat returned to normal. Today I am 23 years old and I still have arrhythmia. My heart rate doesn´t go below 120, even when sleeping.
I dont know if it was any damage caused by the poison, but I also have sleep paralysis. I did several tests, but apparently I had no more serious consequences.

PS: Sorry for the English. I´m not native.

What medication and how long was each arrest? Did you have these arrests in hospital?

Kinda know what feels like due to my condition of palpitations which I take meds daily to stabilize but yours sounds worse than mine.

Did your heart feel pain too? Does it feel like you've been stabbed in the heart? Have you ever had painful cramps, similar to those when your muscles are cramping and you can't do anything?

Everything is lethal if you take enough of it, doesn't mean that it's a pleasant or practical way to go. I mean in theory if you drink enough water in a short amount of time that's lethal but not really practical…

Rat poison should have an active ingredient. Do a search for a safety data sheet (SDS or MSDS) to find the LD50, or lethal dose for 50% (can't remember the actual wording). This is usually listed as mg of ingredient to kg of body weight. Using your weight you can approximate a lethal dose of the substance. However, many studies are done on non-human subjects so the LD50 isn't always correct for humans. As others have said, rat poison may not be an optimal way to go but many chemicals have SDS and corresponding LD50 values.

Rat posion contains very strong corrosive poisonous chemicals which will slowly eat away at all your vital organs of the body. You can end up permanently disabled or suffer major organ damage along with a cluster of health problems. A peaceful and instant death will NOT happen.

It is a very dangerous method. These scientific and medical articles explains why Rat poison is so dangerous for humans when exposed even a small amount is very harmful and damaging to the human body.

There is a good reason why on the Rat poisoning boxes it warns you to take care and to avoid any exposure when using to kill the rats at home. Stay away OP. it is NOT worth the risk OP. Do NOT gamble with your health OP once your health is gone that is it.

It would depend on which rat poison. Most are anti-coagulants e.g. warfarin. Hard to tell regarding pain. Warfarin is actually used as drug in case people are clotting e.g. DVT. It's still used today. That said it's also easy to fix if you are bleeding profusely by giving vitamin K. It wouldn't be a fast death most likely..

A brazilian actress ctb with rat poison, she mixed it with rice and beans and ate. She wrote a letter saying that takes a lot of courage to ctb, and that she was happy with the life she lived, but she didn't want to get older and suffer like her mother, so she ctb.
