  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

They said that pain is inevitable. It makes us gain strength and courage to live. Pain makes us vulnerable but fearless.

Then why is it hard to be? I've known fear since time immemorial and now I don't how its like to not to live in fear.

What do you think about this?

Depends on what is the definition of pain. Yes many times pain is necessary not just to survive but also to thrive. The way the world works, some pains are inevitable for many and quite important to learn the value of many things.
But there are different degrees of pains. Does having to face repeated setbacks and traumas in your life, to the point that it completely breaks your spirit, mind and body comes under the same category of pain that many people consider necessary? I doubt that.
Also, for many people one pain is stacked upon another without any relief which eventually render them helpless. For some people they can easily face such harsh pain, which are truly unbearable for others.
My personal opinion is that we all are different and we all have just one reality that we can truly live, i.e ours. There are so many other factors that determine how people turn out to be and how much they can cope. There is no need to compare and generalise difficulties and pain for all especially when it involves very little empathy and understanding. But it is a norm today.

From a straight evolutionary standpoint, physical pain makes sense for maintaining a body. Mental pain at the levels at which it's possible really don't. To a lesser degree, some minor mental pain is good for keeping social creatures in check of the herd. Sentient life was a mistake

Just like the saying goes "there's a thin line between bravery and insanity." or think of it this way, diamonds are formed from pure carbon under immense pressure and heat. However, just because diamonds were formed from immense pressure doesnt mean it cannot be crushed.

Too little or too much of something is generally not good. Everything must be balanced.

Just like life itself, pain is completely unnecessary. There is no reason to suffer, all suffering is completely meaningless. Life is just a pointless experience that we go through for the sake of it, we were all perfectly fine not existing until we were forced to live.

i have to go with funeral cry on this one. pain & suffering are not character building, it serves no purpose but to make you hate & fear life.
my mother spent endless days & nights sitting beside my bed watching me vomit repeatedly from fucking migraines, what possible virtuous
enlightenment comes from that? when you are a kid & you feel the terror of starting to loose your vision & knowing that its only the first stage
of another migraine.....& thats nothing compared to the pain & suffering i've witnessed other people going through.......i don't understand any of it.

Pain, itself, is necessary. Without it you might inadvertently stick your finger into boiling water and not realize you were cooking yourself. Emotional pain is also a guide that something is wrong. Doesn't mean things don't get wonky. But really, the issue isn't that there's pain, it's that no solution can be found…
