• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

This is a proverb from my country that roughly translates as "It's often a person's mouth that breaks their nose."

It's hard to exactly translate my language to English but I came across this and thought it was worth sharing.

It essentially just means to be kind to yourself. Whatever you're going through remember you are doing your best and there are a lot of people on here that understand and are willing to chat.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. :)

That's a good proverb. I often get caught up in what I materially lack, and it's easy for me to get sidetracked away from what really matters in the end. I often forget to extend kindness to myself.

Thinking of myself as an existential being trapped in a materialistic reality helps me re-center at times. Reality still sucks ass... but I'm trying to remember that there is no moral obligation to punish myself for limits I didn't choose.

Everyone in Ireland has to at least study it in school, no? And most can more or less speak it?
it's... taught poorly. they don't focus on fluency, but academic literature in a way that is essentially taught just to pass the exams. there's no focus on immersion, either, unless you're in a gaelscoil or you live in the gaeltacht.

but it's important to keep it up, imo. is fearr gaeilge bhriste ná béarla cliste.

I've always been very interested in Irish. I would have learned it if I were a better linguist. You see I'm a Canadian sanskritist living in India. Irish and Sanskrit, and other Indian languages, have many historical and social issues in common. May Irish survive and thrive.
