  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I bowl with my friend a lot and we both have our own bowling balls. I was wondering if leaving him my ball would be a nice gesture or a constant reminder?

I'd personally find it to be a nice gesture, but I'm a very sentimental person and I appreciate gestures like that a lot. It might differ for others though.

He could take it either way, really depends on what kind of person he is. If you're worried about it, you could phrase it in a way that leaves him the option to take it if he so wishes with no pressure.

I would suppose it depends. Also: be careful when/how you leave it for him. Are you doing it before or after you CTB? If you do it before, and start leaving things to people frequently before, they will catch on and possibly stage intervention/other drastic measures.

I think its thoughtful. Something they will always remember you by. And also not to mention it helps you too. Letting go of things you thought you couldnt live without is sorta enlightening. What does any of it matter anyways when we have decided to part from this realm anyways

I wish this were true but it seems like many people miss the signs of depression and suicidality. It is hard to identify especially when we are hardwired to think ignorance is bliss regarding to suicide.

I think it's a lovely thing to do- shows you were thinking of them. If they find it too upsetting- they can always store it somewhere if they don't want the reminder.

At least to me it sounds like such a thoughtful thing to do, but I think that after all only you know what is best in this situation as only you know your friends.

hell yeah im leaving my shit for ppl. in fact i should start working on that, see who wants what and at least box things up and label it for who its supposed to go to, maybe buy some prepaid postal boxes for stuff and then it'll all be ready and i can schedule it to be delivered somehow. i hope whatever crap i've accumulated or money i have left can help someone else's life in some tiny way.
the biggest thing for me right now is my pets, they're tiny, inexpensive and don't live long so hopefully i'll find the right warm hearted soul to look after them if they're still alive. maybe i'll make up some excuse that i'm going to rehab and ask the vet/vet techs to take care of them, that's basically what i did when i shut down my animal rescue in prep for ctb, was a huge expensive heartbreaking process.
there's plenty of mutual aid community nonprofits to give things to, people without cars, homes, furniture, could sell things and donate the money or figure out some random act of kindness to solve the personal property issue. i'm not giving me family fuckall, maybe ill have my butt preserved at autopsy and send them that.
read about the nordic tradition of 'death cleaning' a while back, can't find the wiki page for it but here's a link that explains a little. minimalism is the way to go imo. unless we're talking about critters or drugs 😜

I think that it is a nice thing to do. People close to you may appreciate having something of yours to remember you by. If they decide they don't want it, they will just get rid of it.

Very nice thing to do. I have a classic gaming collection that I'm willing to leave to my best friend.

You can leave it. He is the one that will decide what that makes him feel. He will decide what to do with it.

Thoughtful IMO. I have a big list of instructions i've left to distribute my belongings as specified in my will.
