Right now I'm planning on jumping off the golden gate bridge because it's the only fix to my problems. My problems range from not getting in person mental health care, not being able to find in person mental health support groups, having to wear masks and to social distance forever to financial problems. I want to jump off the golden gate bridge because I'm not to far away from it. Do you all think it's a good method to end my own life jumping off the golden gate bridge?

Its heavily patroled and closed during night. It would be very difficult.

You'll likely run into police and/or volunteers. Also, I believe they have constructed (or begun constructing) nets and barriers.

Ah I see what are some other methods? They haven't completed construction yet or even gotten close, but your right about cops or just civilians

@Pcgamer1

There is nothing wrong with reading other thread like this before doing anything.

With any method, a few days won't matter. Hasty decision are not always the best solution. You can not repair the outcome.

If you are able to jump in the right spot there is about a 98-99% success rate, but it has become very difficult to be able to do this. There are a lot of reports that police swarm any single people walking across the bridge or any that look distressed. They are down to one jumper every two weeks out of probably many each day who want to try. So it's tough to do, and I think the net will be complete next year, though this date does keep getting pushed out. It's worth assessing for yourself if it's possible, but it has become very difficult.

Not everyone or even most die on impact from jumping. What happens to many is your bones break and you drown because you cannot swim. Your ribs will shatter and puncture your organs. Personally I don't want this for my final minutes.

You can watch The Bridge … It's one of the few documentaries that explores this topic… I have extreme fear of heights so I'd never do it … But if you're brave enough…

The Bay Bridge gets no press or love, but it is probably equally fatal.

Oddly, quite a few people apparently drive over the Bay Bridge to get to the Golden Gate Bridge to jump. Obviously nobody knows with perfect certainty, but based upon where the suicide lived it would have been the quickest way to get to the Golden Gate Bridge. Probably the same mentality that drives peole to Aokigahara rather than hanging themselves from trees closer to home in Japan, dunno.

I doubt I'd be able to do it from either, but that's me. A wuss.

I've seen a few posts about snake venom or death by ferocious animals this week on SS. I'm curious why people are attracted to such complex methods when they could just get a rope.

btw I failed multiple times with partial hanging but I found a way to block my carotid arteries full suspension (wayyy less painful than blocking airways)
Only Thing that sounds tolerable is N or SN
yeah but N is too expensive for me and I couldn't get my hand on SN in my country. SN is getting harder to get

I'm sorry. That must be incredibly frustrating.

Just wondering if anyone knows, what happens if I get caught by police or volunteers before I jump or am rescued from the net?

I'm sure they start by talking to you and either escort you off the bridge or to the psych ward. I'm curious what this net will look like and how it operates.
I wouldnt choose jumping off a bridge because I dont want to be in severe pain while drowning

the net is 20ft below the span so i imagine it is accessible via the lower deck. i don't know how difficult it is to traverse across or how fast the response is/will be on said net. Turns out the cops or other qualified personal have a right to take you to a mental hospital to be detained, evaluated, and possibly treated with medication and counseling for up to 72 hours if they find probable cause that you are going to hurt others or yourself because of a "mental disorder".
