I already know that the carbon dioxide levels go up when you hyperventilate, but can you suffocate yourself with something after you pass out when you hold your breath after hyperventilating? Such as quickly pulling the object over your head before you hold your breath and pass out after hyperventilating. I am not going to kill myself yet, but just want to know for the future.

I doubt it. How do you act and do actions if you've passed out? Anyway, human survival behavior knows no bounds. Self suffocating is highly unlikely.

You wouldn't be passed out because you would pull the thing over your head before you hold your breath but I get what you mean.
I guess I would have to resort to Shallow Water Blackout as my suicide method.

Yes
There is a method called "Lights out" which consists of hyperventilating and then diving into a pool.

Did he just drown himself or do you know if he did hyperventilating?

I think you have to be very lucky with it and it is unreliable.
