Help Is it possible to efficiently sedate parts of your body while you are conscious?

My father did a surgery, he said only a specific part of his body was sedated (where the surgery happened)

He claimed only certain parts of his body was sedated, and he was conscious during the surgery, if that's true, then how can i replicate the same thing to myself?

My plan is simple

I sedate parts where there are major blood vessels and important veins, then i cut all my blood vessels and veins with a knife then i should die because of bleeding

I don't have access to powerful stuff like fentanyl or narcotics, but i have access to codeine

The spinal block numbs you from the waist down, however such a procedure is impossible to perform at home

Sounds like a local anesthetic to me. I don't think there is a way without drugs. Maybe cutting of blood flow to a limb and letting it die could work but it's an extremely stupid idea.
