People who are about to die may think about supernatural beings, if there is a spirit world and if there is a God. According to The Holy Bible, God created heaven and earth. God created humans and animals. There are people who claim to have felt the presence of God. There are books about how to experience the presence of God. If there is a God, he has to be invisible to us humans.

According to Christianity, God is:

- holy, separated from evil and sin
- omnipotent, does everything that is in accordance with his nature
- present, he is everywere
- omniscient, he knows everything that has happened, which is happening and which will occur
- eternal, without beginning and end, birth and death
- independent
- unrestricted
- unchanging
- unfathomable and always greater than our ability to endure
- nessesary existence, uncreated, for his existence not dependent on anything or anyone
- has life in his self, his life has no cause.

Is there a God? The burden of proof should rest on the believers. I believe we only exist because of evolution. The religious behavior may be a tendency that arose through natural selection in our ancestors. The higher intelligence and education a person has, the less likely he or she is to be religious. Will we have a better life if we waste time worshiping a God which we do not even know exists? According to Stephen Hawking, the simplest explanation is that there is no God - no one created the universe and no one decides our fate. Have you ever experienced the presence of God? Is God only an illusion?

Brother, I, too, am Islamic. But you have to understand there are also different system of beliefs, however misguided they may be. I see a lot of things that go against Islam and I choose not to engage them in a discussion because it's pointless. People have already made up their minds. Having said that, I don't like to preach so I accept whatever path someone chooses to take, even if it means they take their own lives. I'm just simply not going to encourage them as it will go against our values. I believe there is a God, I am Christian after all so it'd be odd for me to say otherwise. Often though I prefer other terms like "Follower of Jesus" since the label Christian has long been a way to excuse people's homophobia. The whole homophobic rhetoric seems to have come from a mistranslstion in the bible, changing a verse meant to dissuade p*dophillia to one condemning homosexuality.

Anyway, rant over. I've experienced things I can only explain through God. Crying in church every week, desperate for answers and healing from religious trauma. Then during a service the preacher asked anyone willing to say the prayer of forgiveness along with him. The transformation I experienced that day was amazing. I was overjoyed. I danced all the way home, that's how happy I was.

The song I listened to in church after becoming Christian was "Glorious Day" by passion if anyones interested.

Sure, I'm still mentally unwell and likely always will be but being faithful has definitely changed me for the better. Hell, I still might ctb in future but it'll never change how I felt that day.

I'm not here to change anyones mind or argue but I thought my experience might be food for thought.

My son died at the hands of a drug dealer who he was in debt to. The m/fin dealer let my son die slowly on a couch while he watched. He was my only child, son. Is God good... who the f knows... but I do not think he/she/it is concerened about any of us..as individuals. We are fodder for his/her/its enjoyment. There are people who will tell you they KNOW that god exists. Clearly something is happening in these people's brains to convince them of this. They probably disagree, since these people tend to dismiss science and the relationship between mind and brain.

I have never felt the presence of God, but when I visit a church I usually get a special feeling which must have been caused by the decor. People who have written books about the presence of God are convinced of that there is a god. For someone who is about to die in the near future, it would be safe with a god, but there is no evidence of it - the most likely is that God is an illusion. For me God is an illusion.
