  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

So I have a question. Is it okay to hang yourself in such doors, connecting rope over the door? Can I convulse and accidentally touch the edges of the passage to save myself?

i would imagine something like this could happen where the frame isn't properly connected and would break off..

You just never know. I would trust an older house, because people used to build things with more self-respect for quality. Now, everything is made as cheaply as possible. Doorframes on houses built in the last 50 years or so are so weak even a front door of a house can easily be kicked in by a person of average strength.

It's just an example. In my case, the partition is concrete. I'm afraid of hitting the walls with my hands.

i do think that could happen too.
sadly its more painful than youd think so anyone would instinctively try to escape.

Hmh. Can bound hands help? Besides, I'll be under benzos and I've read that if you do it right, you lose consciousness quickly.

Concrete is a stronger material than wood. If the partition is thick there should be no problems. There is also the door frame embedded there. So it's even stronger using both.

But if you still have doubts... is there any way to test it? Pass the rope through the partition and grab it with your hands and swing it a little.

Unless you leave the chair without making it fall, I don't think there is any chance of salvation. Trying to climb the rope would be impossible while you're already hanging. Plus, you'll only be conscious for a few seconds to react.

The frame above a door or window it's called a header and is very strong, or at least should be. Minimum you have the upper door jamb which is not that strong but above that the area normally 2 or 3 2x4's laid flat. That is 3 to 4½ inches of strong wood. There is a gap between the jamb and header so make sure you go above the header.

There is a reason it's said that in a earthquake the safest place is in a open door.

If you are very, very fit, you could climp up the rope, grab the horizontal beam and save yourself. Handcuffs will made your death inevitable, I will use some.
