My hanging didn't work. I've told people what would work, and how I can live a successful life. They just laugh and say "sounds like an ultimatum" and just continue letting me suffer. I need to die, but the hanging hurts too much. I need this. This is my ONLY FUCKING CHANCE. What do I do?

Take a deep breath and scream it out. FUCK!!!!!!!! is my favorite scream. The sound of breaking glass, that I have thrown, helps for me. It may not last for long, but it can keep you going until you find you way in or out. Frankly, my life has been miserable enough, I want my death to be peaceful.

Why do you think that your attempt failed? Do you feel that something is holding you back, like anxiety or fear, or was it physically not possible to go through with it because the tools that you were using weren't effective enough?

I tried partial hanging once, I was turning purple and my eyes felt like they were about to pop. Never tried it ever since.

I read online about a guy who bought ceramic plates after his parent's divorce and smashed them all against the side of his house in a blind rage. He said it was very cathartic. Stabbing pillows with a steak knife is also another method I have heard of.

I said that all my parents had to do for me not to kill myself is to let me live in the house, don't expect me to contribute to society, don't force me to go to college, just let me live in my room. They laughed and said "that's an ultimatum, so we can't do that. Do what you need to do."

Now, I don't wish to be confrontational, but what would your plan going forward be? I mean, in normal cases, your parents would die before you. How would you take care of yourself then?

Is it the thought of working that bothers you? Again, I don't mean to be judgmental - I'm just curious of how your current state developed.

Ok that's a start, is there any compromise you can do with them, like meet half way?

The hanging has clearly been a nightmare for you so you probably need to at least try and make life a little bit easier on yourself if you can.

You are a smart guy and you can probably see that no parent would buy into you living like a hermit in your room. If you hate the idea of college what about a part time job, failing that volunteering (maybe with animals) or something that is not going to be a nightmare for you but shows them you are willing to give way just a little bit

That's a start, take a step back and look at the situation. It feels awful but see what they say, give them room to compromise with you
