I was 9 when I took a metal pole to the temple. My skull is dented from the left temple to the tip of the skull, and there is another ridge that collapses around the impact point. The front lobe of my skull is tilted to the side, and a one centimeter bump where the base is the size of a dime.
I don't know how much it has affected my learning abilities, but I did complete my bachelors at 22 and I was bilingual since 15. I would say it feels horrific to run my hand over my scalp, and I did not know exactly what caused this until recently when I shaved my head in a fit of rage. A few months later of reflecting, I was certain with what happened.
I was 15 when I attacked myself This crosschecks with how the specialist withheld the results of the x-ray from me as well as my family doctor, who could identify quite clearly that this was due to a blow to the head based on the pattern it formed on my skull. They would not explain this to me, in fact they gave me the most vague details considering the deformity, and like a moron, I offered that perhaps when my skull was formed the plates of the skull created an overlap. I remember the specialist quickly and eagerly agreeing with me. She was lying. They know my head looks like it got smashed in by an iron pole.
I do not blame them of course. They likely did not want me to waste my time and what little sanity I would have in wondering what happened. I always noted how my doctor had a particular soft spot for me (nothing of the sexual sort), turns out that they figured that if I wasn't getting headaches and I was bilingual at 15, then it's probably better not to tell me how my is dented like an old car.
