It would hurt, you'd break bones for sure but I doubt that you would die unless you landed on your head.

200 feet should be enough (95% fatality rate)

Yeah working on a bridge I knew a guy that fell from about that height. Survived but definitely fucked up. He unhooked his tie off and jumped to avoid a load crushing him.

Nice view from said bridge though :)

Would not risk it, but I know what it is like to be desperate.
I am considering jumping off a 80 foot cliff.
It has to be at least 150 foot on land, and 250 onto water.

Where's the cliff if you don't mind me asking?

I would only feel comfortable if it was like, 1000+ feet.

But jumping is never ever going to make my list of preferable methods. From seeing interviews on Golden Gate survivors, SI is a bitch once there's no ground beneath you.

Cool. Never heard of it. Shame it's not as high as other places
It's the only cliff local to me that I can reasonably get to
There is Berry Head which is 200 foot in Brixham and Salcombe Hill which is also 200 foot in Sidmouth.
I do not have the transport or money for the journey there.
I would prefer to go to Beachy Head if I'm being completely honest.

Any height will work right if you land right!

There are taller cliffs in Devon & Cornwall. Wouldn't you be better off looking there?

Not many, unless you look at north coast cornwall, further down you go flatter it gets

I'll have to look back through my climbing guidebooks but I'm fairly sure lizard is higher?

Yeah just checked. Up to 170ft at Lizard Point. But moot point as the OP can't travel.

I never travel that far down, I am cornish btw! living in hell in Cornwall! Know most the north coast very well I have never ventured towards the lizard, mainly the other coast and falmouth

If 95 percent fatality rate sounds like a gamble you would take – I wouldn't even take a 99.5 percent gamble with jumping.

Jumping from 50 feet will give you a high probability of surviving.

I had imagined the graphic was pretty self-explanatory.

Likelihood of guaranteed death based on jumping height is covered in the Suicide Wiki, which is reachable via the Resources Compilation. I had also (wrongly) assumed there would probably be a jumping megathread listed there.

Oh, there should have been an infographic referring the reader to the resource compilation.

I think they're trying to tell me not to start threads on this and to consult the guide or something.

Not telling you not to, but just suggesting that these kind of very basic questions are almost always answered in the guides, and it cuts down on unnecessary and repetitive posts if people read the guides before/instead of asking these kind of questions.
