Ctb is an individual choice. I don't believe anyone can set an age requirement except the person themselves.
I don't think so. No one chooses to be born, so at the very least we ought to be able to choose when to die.

I think it depends on your situation, but that is my personal belief. Are you physically in good health ? Is there anything you can do to improve your current life ? 19 is young but no one knows what you're going through but yourself.
However there is still much time ahead of you, if you're healthy, I would say fight as long as you can to try and reach peace / happiness.

If someone that young wanted to ctb over something like a romantic interest I'd say they might want to wait it out. However, 19 is an adult so I can't tell them what to do.

It really depends. Generally if it's problems at home or a relationship you are at the age you can try to leave or be out on your own so I think that's worth a try before you give up. But it can be understandable with a lot of trauma and abuse why someone would do that.

I couldn't answer without knowing why you want to ctb. There's no set limit, I think it depends on people's individual experiences. I agree with the above poster that e.g. it's too soon to ctb over a romantic interest. In those cases you feel bad enough to want to ctb, but you're young, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet someone else.
If I had to give a generic answer, then I would be sad that someone that young would ctb, but I would understand, since I wanted to die myself well before that age.
One big factor is that the world does give a lot more opportunities to someone when they are young like that compared to decades later, so when a person is young it makes sense to really fully explore options for recovery. Still once a person gets to an adult age then can do this, I do support choice for any adult age, but please keep in mind that many people who make attempts at such a young age regret it later. It depends a lot on your reasons. If it is for a permanent, painful medical condition that is not going to get better any time soon that is a good enough reason- if the pain is too much for a person. If it is due to loneliness, the most common reason for a younger person, there are many ways to connect with others that can help- if this is the reason many ideas can be offered to try to find nice people to connect with. If it is due to finances there are solutions to this at younger ages that people can offer suggestions for. What are your reasons for considering this, if you would want to share this?

My thoughts on this are fairly obvious… At 19 a human being has the potential to reinvent themselves in ways that become far more difficult later… At 19 a human being may not realize what possibilities await them ….
If it's not an impulsive decision. Then, no. This applies to everyone regardless of age.

CTB's decision is a strictly personal decision. I personally think that no one should blame each other for this decision. I see a lot of "but no you're too young", "you have to eat", "you live in a developed/rich country". Suffering is real, and spares no one.
Personally, I should have died at 19. Things got worse than they could have and it would have saved me a lot of pain. Anyway, I could have died at 10, I wouldn't have missed much.

It honestly depends on your circumstances. In my case, life felt horrible at 19 but I'm glad I didn't go through with ctb because its true that there are many more experiences for you out there when you reach your 20s etc. At 19, you probably haven't had the freedom to even attrmpt to experience a life you enjoy living. I might be wrong though, like i said it comes down to your individual circumstances. This is just my thoughts based off of my experience.

No, all humans have the right to exit this world at a time of their own choosing. There is no such thing as being too young to ctb. We have no obligations to stay alive as we never asked to be here in the first place anyway.
It would be impossible for suicide to be wrong, it could never be as to die solves all problems. In fact to die would remove the cause of all problems in the first place which is life itself. I believe that non existence is always preferable to living and to die would prevent all future suffering so therefore to me it's ideal.
But after all, it's a personal decision when to leave and only the individual can decide what is best for themselves and other people should have no say in it. I personally see suicide as the best way to die as after all we will all die someday so I see it as being preferable to exit this world at a time of my own choosing.

Greatly depends on your situation. Your life is likely to change a lot in the next few years. For me, the worse years of my life were ages 18-22. Suicide seemed inevitable. However I got a college degree and very importantly left home. It was great living on my own, making my own living. My job gave confidence and independence. Being far from my family helped so much. The path I took may not be easy or possible for you but still a way out of your own situation may be doable. Good luck

For me if it's like you are always home and it wouldn't matter if you go and you wouldn't miss out on things normal adults do or you wouldn't regret missing out on them then it's pretty much a solid reason for me so here I am in this position but if your dopamine is still working and you go out sometimes feel happy you could possibly think about your decision but your decision is yours and noone atleast I wouldn't want to judge or say it's not reasonable. I wouldn't listen to all the adults who say you are too young without even knowing if you have a chronic illness or something that snatches every normal experience which they are talking about you experiencing. You could care less when you know you wouldn't ever have them. So if the will is gone it's gone not the adults or someone could change it. People also have died because of beliefs and they felt they should just leave there are different people some leave for spiritual purposes but I think they already have given up so many things normal adults do. I think it's the things we kee getting once in everywhile and we call them experiences which keep us on earth and a motherfucking thing called dopamine which sometimes stops working.

I would say it depends. Unless you're dealing with a debilitating issue or facing consequences beyond your control and would choose death over the life that's guaranteed in front of you than no. If you're feeling depression and lack of interest in a lot of stuff, lethargic and detached from everything than yes. I was very, very, very suicidal at 19. But I managed to squeeze an additional 23 years out of my life that turned out to be great years with great memories. I thought my life was over so I was ready to make my exit. I had no idea what opportunities and happiness was ahead of me because I was trapped in my own thoughts day in and day out. I'm glad I didn't end it at 19. But now, with the life that's guaranteed ahead of me and approaching fast, I choose death.

CTB's decision depends on the level of suffering and alternative solutions that the person has at hand, regardless of age.
Try to explore, if you want, and if you have the possibility, all the solutions that will allow you to want to live. If possible, ask for financial and psychological help (provided that the shrinks give you the choice of what you want, without constraint), meet people even if you have to sort between good and bad people, explore professional careers, etc.
To want CTB, there is already the courage to overcome the survival instinct.
Nobody has the right to say that "you're too young for CTB", "you're a coward", "there's worse than you", and all that bullshit, that I heard. These reproaches, these sermons push precisely to want CTB, the people who give sermons, give moral lessons, are criminals without knowing it.
Like many people, here, in this forum, and in many pro-choice associations, no one chose to be born, we are unequal from birth (born disabled or not, born rich or poor, born in a good or a bad family, born under X, etc). It is therefore normal, and even fair, that everyone can choose when, how, where, in what way they want to live or die, whatever the reasons.
By the simple fact of not having chosen to be born, everyone would have the right to claim to die with dignity, in a peaceful way, that society helps them to leave. As we refuse advertising cookies on the internet, or refuse canvassing. This is the very principle of FREEDOM!
I am happy that this forum can exist, because everyone, or almost, understands and respects everyone's choice, and will help them in their choices.
Paradoxically, thanks to this forum, many people chose to live again, and again, because they knew that this forum is a door of relief, or, at least, of comfort.
Personally, I deeply regret not having been able to die of illness before the age of 10, I experienced an NDE, but my parents woke me up in time, what a misfortune for me, who was on the way to death, in peace. I had serious fatal illnesses because of my parents who abused me and never treated me medically. I suffer from an incurable disease which evolves very quickly, I am over 35 years old and I am reproached for complaining too often, calls me a coward, that I am not the only one with problems, I am rejected for that and because I'm not brave.
I made an attempt at CTB when I was 18, but I failed, and they almost committed me to a psychiatric hospital by force, but my mother had nevertheless refused this forced internment. She had refused to sign the papers presented by a very nasty social worker who was following me. I had asked to change social worker after this nasty blow, as the law of my country allows to change social workers when things are not going well. This social worker flew into a rage when she saw that I had rejected her and had resigned from social services in my city.
You must never give up, never! It is never by forcing people to live that we will help them to live, quite the contrary!

Unless you're dealing with a really extreme personal circumstance (severe chronic/terminal illness, facing life in prison or something, etc) I think it's too young. Your brain isn't mature until the age of 25 which means things like mental illness and outlook on life can significantly change in that time, and that you aren't able to make sound decisions (and there is no decision more important or impactful than ctb).
I'm 18 and I'm giving myself a few years, at minimum. I think there's a good chance I'll feel different in the future.
