  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

How much will be investigated post ctb? I am thinking of using 2 means. 1. gun and N just to make sure ive ctb. The reason is ive survived many strokes and heart attacks thus far it makes me nervous and i want to make sure i'm gone. What will be investigated? Does anyone know how it goes down after they discover a ctb?

Thanks all in advance.

It really depends on where you are in the world. If you're young, there could well be an autopsy. Police will only investigate to satisfy themselves it was indeed a suicide, with no criminal element—meaning not a homicide. That's about it, I should think…

There will be an autopsy most likely depending on where you're located.

In US, they will investigate things like your recent online activity, cell phone messages etc, interview friends/family/treating professionals, take personal possessions like journals and notes, and perform an autopsy. This is all because a suicide is considered an unnatural death and must be investigated to make sure it wasn't a homicide that's being covered up as a suicide.

Elsewhere in the world, I don't know. If you've been suicidal for awhile and all evidence (internet activity, journals, etc) point to suicide, it will probably be a pretty quick investigation.

Depending on the manner of death will decide the thoroughness of the investigation. Police will typically look through internet history, text/call history, to help corroborate manner of death.

Do you have any sources for this? When my best friend ctb they didn't take her phone or computer bc she left a clear note. However An autopsy was performed and her family was questioned for a few hours.

Just a few for you, there are many others and easily found by googling "unnatural death investigation" "suicide death investigation" etc. Unnatural death investigation laws, guidelines, and strategies differ across the country. The officers involved in your friend's death investigation were likely satisfied by the questioning of the family. Are you certain the family didn't provide access to your friend's phone while they were being questioned? In either case, police will pursue the investigation until they are satisfied it was a suicide and not a homicide, utilizing whichever means are most appropriate to the situation.

Hmmm, interesting read. I guess it must vary case by case! Yes I'm sure, her phone wasn't used. However she also had a VERY clear and long medical and mental health history (as do I) so maybe that's why. I can imagine if someone didn't really show signs of much beforehand they'd be wanting the phone for sure.

I guess to be safe wipe everythint first? Although I can't say I have much to hide or that people don't know, either that or silly things like porn or vices or whatever that really don't matter once we're dead *shrug*

Don't think they'll Autopsy me: All the bookmark sites on my computer are Nitrogen/Exit Bag/Painless Suicides/How to kill yourself in 60 seconds/Sanctioned Suicide/Flowmeter sites--and there will be suicide notes left, and who to contact plus the Final Exit Book and PPH Book will be laid out in plain sight

Same, there won't need to be much investigation for me either. I also don't really have anything to hide on my devices, in my journals, etc. There's some real personal stuff yeah but I don't care if it's found/read. Anything I keep actually secret is not written down anywhere or traceable to me through internet history. The only thing I'd hide if I could can't really be hidden so 🤷 Not gonna worry!

If you leave a hand-written, signed note, one that is easy to verify was written by you, that will seriously limit any investigation. If you want to add something to that, record yourself on you phone ,or whatever, saying you're ctb for whatever reason you are.
