  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Money, happiness and eternal life - Greed (1/2) | DW Documentary

I found this to be insightful, kind of resonates with my idea that the accumulation and value of precious material possessions and achievements reflect on a perception or desire for an everlasting life, which seems clear to me is an unreasonable expectation, even if it means a desire to have some meaningful impact and record that would be recognized and last for the ongoing civilization.

Yes, but its still sort of pointless in the end, one still dies with nothing and many times realizing the efforts made for and meaning given to these things where the result of a clever psychological deception made by natural selection to serve natural selection only and not really yourself.

Most people believe the results of personality and efforts are created by them and owned by them to their personal merit and worth, and rewarded or punished in some form or other as a result of the personality they believe they or others created and so all justified due to complete personal responsibility.

These behaviors are not based in correct value assessments of personality and many other factors, people think most results are due to free will.

Its kind of comforting to know the highest valued achievements and traits in society are simply the products of the mad and progressive random results in just one planet, and not even one single thing actually belongs to you or was actually made by you or even for you.

I don't mean at all that productive efforts should not be rewarded or that unproductive efforts or harm should not be punished.

I'm just saying that people take it too personally to a degree that is even delusional and insane.

I guess could be a really nice accomplishment for most people to make some digital creation that would engage people in a satisfactory way and be recognize for it, could mean to leave a meaningful digital trace of history tied to your name and effort.

But in the end it would only be valuable to you in the present moment and mostly in benefit of your own by improving your sense of worth and survival, so I would not worry to much about it.

i won't be satisfied into i have complete knowledge of everything atoms maths the lot then i can imagine and create anything and everything it's just a shame our computers are nowhere near capable of being able to create the things i would want too, to be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it, i got over 100.000 downloads for bots a made for a MMO game made 10k, i've writen over 100,000 lines of code over 10 years i've contributed and improve people's life sightly, at least i got to practice my gift.
