I would like to know your thoughts on this recent study. This is specifically about pills but this should also apply to drinking SN, right?

"Researchers examining the mechanics of drug dissolution and the natural anatomy of the stomach found that taking a pill while lying on your right side shortens the time it takes for medicine to be absorbed

"Most pills do not start working until the stomach ejects their contents into the intestine. So the closer a pill lands to the lower part of the stomach, the antrum, the faster it starts to dissolve and empty its contents through the pylorus into the duodenum, the first part of the small intestine. If you're aiming a pill for this part of the stomach, posture is critical to both gravity and the natural asymmetry of the stomach.

"The team tested four postures. Taking pills while lying on the right side was by far the best, sending pills into the deepest part of the stomach to achieve a dissolution rate 2.3 times faster than even an upright posture. Lying on the left side was the worst. The team was very surprised to find that if a pill takes 10 minutes to dissolve on the right side, it could take 23 minutes to dissolve in an upright posture and over 100 minutes when laying on the left side."

Interesting....it looks pretty legit. But that might be my bias. Ya see, I tend to sleep on my right side usually at night so this is actually quite natural for me.

Today I have practised drinking 50ml of water while laying on my right side and it wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be. But I do wonder if it'll be hard to stay in that position once the nausea and shortness of breath begin.

I used to do salt water flushes with pink Himalayan sea salt and I would lay on my right side and noticed that I'd have a bowel movement way quicker than if I layed on my back or left side so this may have truth to it

Now I am wondering if this will make us pass out too quickly. I think we need to stay awake long enough to see if we will vomit and thus require a second glass. What do you think?

seem plausible but prolly a lot of factors esp if sn. i will definitely be laying down quickly after cuz i really dont wanna accidentally puke and aspirate that. swallow it back down, okay, but not into my lungs. i'll be aware of positioning. if this study just used a pill, there's a lot of factors there too. we use solution for sn b/c of the mechanical absorpltion, stans sez capsule takes longer b/c gelatin, and solid form of sn vs. aqueous. with a pill, it's pressed with fillers, not to mention whatever the actual meds, percentage of pill that constitutes, lots of factors. that would mechanically effect absorption. then we could look at bioavailability. how fast does your GI jooz break that down, for the chemical you took to be delivered into jejunum (upper small intestine) where the tissue will break absorb nutrients into the bloodflow and throughout our bodies. mechanically i would think that laying on the side where gravity will help this along could* help. that would be laying on right side, but again, it depends what med what form, physical condition etc. if fasting and ~50ml h2o i think the difference will be small but the puke aspiration is a secondary concern. tl;dr prolly more beneficial than not. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I was planning on sitting up a little instead of laying completely down. Now I'm wondering if i should try this.
