I am not sure if this is the appropriate place for this thread, but I am so tired of being tired and inflamed. Anyone struggling with either a chronic illness or depression, can we feel inflammation? Because that is what my body feels like. Everyday I suffer from headaches, light sensitivity, stomach pain, and backaches. Last night, I fell asleep with a horrible back ache. Everyday of my life is like having a low grade flu. Doctors haven't been able to help and I become so overwhelmed working with a dietician. Any tips or information would be appreciated.

I don't have the answers for you but a lot of mental health problems are comorbid with physical problems. Living in constant state of stress definitely causes inflammation and damage to the body.

I've had chronic fatigue my enter life and 6-7 years ago started having severe sensitivity to light, sound, migraines, and burning, itching, sharp, and throbbing pains all over my body. Ended up being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia because they couldn't find anything. I'm inclined to believe that our nervous system becomes inflamed from being in prolonged states of the fight, flight, freeze response from various trauma or stressors.

I have fibromyalgia, but it isn't an inflammatory condition. I do have arthritis which is inflammatory. It gets much worse from stress or if I eat too much sugar.

I used to have chronic, painful excema (inflammatory) and it mostly cleared up when I started taking tumeric/black pepper extract supplements. I also take glucosamine/chondroitin. Inflammation increase has been very diet related for me. I don't know if it is for you.

I had some success with a very strict "carnivore diet". Have you heard about it? It's basically meat, eggs, salt and water. If you're not allergic to eggs, of course.

Sometimes i guess you have to accept that these things happen. I think i will die.from this but i may have other plans be fore it kills me. I wish you recovery.

Getting rid of sugar is not a bad thing to try, at worst it hurts absolutely nothing. Then all processed foods, the closer to whole the better. It won't cure everything of course, but will help…

I am not a nutritionist. Sounds like you're having some mild allergic reaction. Elimination diet is difficult but may be necessary. Speak with your nutritionist about your current diet and what you've already tried eliminating. You would need to stick with a specific diet for at least 2-3 weeks and it could take 6+ months of removing/replacing food items 2-3 weeks at a time.

You could give vitamin C and NAC a try. They are anti inflammatory. Same goes with zinc and vitamin D3. Also drink a lot of water and abstain from sugar and fried foods (fries, roasted beef).

I have inflammatory/immune responses and recently figured out that a part of it is attributed to leaky gut. I've been doing Autoimmune Paleo diet strictly as a way of healing intestinal walls but also to identify which foods are triggers. Perhaps you may want to look into it.

Supplements may also be a key management tool. Off the top of my head, I know some people have had success megadosing with turmeric. I won't offer any other suggestions, as apparently some people don't like that, so I'll just say it's something you may consider researching. Best of luck.

You can get more physically active, get a proper physical examination, test for parasites, vitamin deficiencies,... It might be something trvial and doctors do not take such things seriously unless you are showing classic symptoms.

Absolutely. I lived the entirety of my childhood like that and I feel like I'm 20 years older than I am. Fucked me up for life. You're not supposed to have cortisol pumping through your body all the time.

I was diagnosed with leaky gut and Paleo did help with inflamation, but like you said, it was only one step towards recovery and gave a elimination diet base to safely introduce foods to find the right diet. You can get past it. Fwiw, nutrient absorption seemed more important than any of the supplements I tried.

Oh, hun, I have two autoimmune diseases! I get it. I drink a lovely cup of green tea every day and use that time for a bit of mindfulness/meditation. It has helped enough that I recommend it to everyone with illness. Just don't sweeten your teas with sugar or you will counteract the benefits and feed the inflammation -- if you need to sweeten it, use a bit of stevia or similar. You may need to try a few brands til you find one you like. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. It SUCKS.
