I think some Youtubers sort of prostitute themselves with ad reads. If Youtubers have many contracts with external corporations my trust gets less. There was much reporting that right-wing Youtubers got money from Russia. In my opinion grass root support seems to have the most integrity.
I think not all ad reads are on the same level though. There worse and better examples.

But ads for Ground News and NordVPN come on. Or buying gold, coffee etc. I am not even watching the worst out of worst Youtubers in this instance. And I still consider it ridiculous.

I think independent media gets corrupted by it's own bias. Not knowing the way youtube ads are set up and selected I can't say it's them solely. If youtubers have their say in the ads they'll get advertisers that fit their views. Most ads on youtube I either skip through or just ignore and I've never bought anything based on a youtube ad.

Is "Independent Media" not a sort of contradiction in terms; bit like "Military Intelligence". #Oxymoronsareuz.com.
