  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

We are only here because our parents had children. Life becomes suffering when we live long enough or we can be tormented all our lives. We have not chosen to exist but our parents and the society force us to live in a world where we all are going to die and be forgotten. People are in denial of death. They force us into meaningless suffering with diseases, dental visits, age-related ailments and injustices, they are trying to force us to die of old age or maybe they want us to live forever - how can anyone be so mean and selfish?

People have had children into a world where our pets are treated better than humans and therefore this situation has arised. People are expected to suffer as long as possible before they die in the society of today, but all people have the right to exit whenever they want - life is a personal resposibility.

Many people on Sanctioned Suicide are only alive because of the survival instinct - the most difficult thing to overcome. Therefore, all people should have the right to a lethal injection by a doctor, we should have the same right to die as our pets. Should we be forced to die of old age, the worst death?

30 000 years ago, not many people lived more than 30 years. In the 14th century during the black death in Europe there were dead people everywhere. 200 years ago, not many people lived more than 45 years. In 2022, the denial of human death has never been worse in the history of mankind.

Before you go to live the life you are being forced by others to live remember theyll never be

It is already too late for us, people who exist. It is a lose-lose situation in the grand scheme of things. The most moral thing we can do as existing casualty is to abstain from bringing people to this world if we can help it.

Seems like overreaching. I'd say people could have the right to some cheap inert gas thing/carotid closer device/use of shotgun/etc. Doctors and drugs don't grow on trees.

I do think that the first step is just to get governments to back down with the banning of, say, pre-made suicide kits/SN (or even websites, lol). And also to make assistance of suicide legal, ofc.

We all deserve the option of a peaceful exit at a time of our own choosing, nobody should have to resort to painful or traumatic methods that could fail. It is cruel how people are expected to suffer for decades against their wishes, I see the right to die as being very important. Suicide is a personal decision.

However many people live under a delusion that life is always worth living and allowing euthanasia would shatter their false beliefs. These people see suicide as always being irrational, but to me suicide is the only thing that makes sense as I want to escape decades of pointless suffering. After all, there is no point to living.

No they shouldn't imho, as has been discussed elsewhere and at great length. Implementing death-on-demand, no checks or balances etc is an absolutely horrendous idea and the notion that this would be an act of compassion for greater societal benefit is, at best, very naive imo.

I would also say that dying of old age being considered "the worst death" is inaccurate tbqh.

Suicide can be extremely impulsive. I'd hate for someone to end their life over a temporary situation that seemed like the end of the world at the time. I think compassionate assisted suicide should be more available, but with a wait period and counseling.

I agree, suicide is the only thing that makes sense when life is meaningless suffering. But how can some people be so programmed to live that they choose to be slowly tormented to death for several years when others commit suicide in the same situation? Does it depend on the survival instinct or the denial of death or because these people can not kill themselves or are they just stupid?

The survival instinct can be very powerful and it can be determined to keep us suffering. I believe some people manage to go through with it as they reach a certain level of desperation and hopelessness which allows them to overcome the SI, they cannot take the pain of living anymore. I have wanted to die for a long time but yet I am still here. I envy those who have the courage to exit. In many cases, it depends on what methods people have available, if I had a peaceful way to exit suicide would be a lot easier for me.

I would give only those who are too incapacitated to drink the choice of lethal injection by a doctor.

For everyone else, I'd leave the doctor out. It's not fair to expect doctors to give lethal injections to everyone who chooses to die.

Instead, everyone who wishes to die should be given a free, lethal & sweetened drink of sodium pentobarbital. They can drink it, go to sleep peacefully and sleep permanently.

I agree with you on everything else. The right to a peaceful & dignified death at a time of one's own choosing must become a fundamental human right.

This is how people are expected to live and die in the society of today: old people are slowly tormented to death, they live and die without dignity, some of them look like wandering corpses, they are crooked in the body and they pees everywhere and then they end up in a wheelchair - how can anyone want to live that long? The suicide clinics in Switzerland are expensive with requirement for medical certificate - they want to make money on our death in a society that has stolen money from us all our lives. All people should have the right to a peaceful death by a doctor, but only a few people can die in a suicide clinic. However, our pets are killed at the veterinarian to avoid years of meaningless suffering - that is denial of human death.

I'm very sexually active and because of that I'm really considering getting a vasectomy, I don't have kids either, but I'm kind of scared
