In a case report published in Clinical Toxicology, doctors wrote about a 48-year-old woman who was treated at a hospital for slurred speech, drowsiness and weakness. The woman said she took 20 to 40 pills of 2mg doses of loperamide once or twice a day for several weeks, alongside drinking whiskey and taking clonazepam.

Blood tests showed that the level of loperamide in her system was the highest ever reported in a non-fatal loperamide overdose.

Wow, 20-40 pills, twice a day?! That's a lot of pills to swallow! Here's another example of an overdose:

Patients use high-dose loperamide for symptoms of opioid withdrawal and even attempt to recreationally overdose on this medication with doses of the medication over 100 times the recommended 16 mg daily maximum.

EDIT: I guess it could be used as a cheap "last resort", you can get 30 tablets of Loperamide Hydrochloride (active ingredient) for as little as £1.80, time to start stocking up before they ban/regulate it I guess?

For anyone who's interested, here's what 240 pills of generic Imodium looks like (8x 30), and it only cost around £12/$16

Only problem with this is the embarrassment of having the doctor tell your family that you died from taking diarrhea pills.

How did you decide on 240 pills ? Why not 500 ?
I read you really need to mix with other drugs to let the opioid move into the brain but I'm unsure what they are.

It doesn't cause death through the opioid effects. Similar to the now discontinued propoxyphene (darvon), it can cause fatal cardiac arrhythmias. Unlike darvon, it has extremely minimal central action due to a general inability to penetrate the blood brain barrier.

As with propoxyphene, a very high dose of a long acting benzo would be required to make it peaceful. It is also less reliable as well.

I would highly not recommend doing this. Death will not occur immediately but only through repeated high dosings each of which hurts your cardiac muscles. It would be a very long and painful unguaranteed death.

I was thinking I could mix it with Dextromorphine and alcohol for a massive high and good bye ?

No. That would not make the Immodium any more lethal. You would feel horrible for possibly several days after and potentially have permanent heart damage, but death would be incredibly unlikely.

Back to the CO method, I've tried to get SN in the UK. I want to go in the house but not by CO in the house just in case there's a fire.

Also I used to use Immodium back in my addiction days. It's not a nice high. It is a very dirty feeling and feels like having the flu. It does reduce WD symptoms though, which is why addicts use it.

Seems like a lot of addicts take it regularly. Are they doing it for a high or just for the withdrawal ?

Mostly for the WDs. As I said the high is very, very, very shitty. Not worth it at all especially considering how dangerous it is.

To be honest I don't think my heart is in good health, been a smoker and caffeine addict for 20 years. What symptoms does it give you ? I'd take a heart attack as my death, painful but it would be in my home. I'd like to go in my home.

What the hell is dextromorphine? Are you referring to dextromethorphan (the ingredient in robitussin) or dextroamphetamine by chance?

Damn, I feel out of the loop. I was not aware it was discontinued.

Although, I never did ever give anyone it much (Darvon). Only a handful of times IM  , and it was always being given only to just specific people for whatever the reasons.

My Mom used to talk about giving it all of the time though, hahahaa!

Yeah, it was discontinued 10-15 years ago due to it being a fairly crappy opioid in general and causing death when taken in high amounts. Tramadol largely filled the gap and was eventually classified as a CIV in the US, which is where darvon resided along with a few other similarly crappy opioids like butorphanol or pentazocine.

At first I honestly thought we were talking about Demerol, Lol! I thought that was funny.

Really, it was Demerol my Mom talked about, but not Darvon, haha, I just mixed the two up in my head was all.

Demerol is a shitty opioid as well :) its use has largely been replaced by fentanyl or dilaudid due to demerol's toxic metabolites.

Many years ago, when I got my wisdom teeth removed I received Demerol. I still look back on that experience as the best high of my life (with many, many years' of experience). I was wide awake and talked throughout the entire procedure. My doctor said the amount he gave me should have knocked me out. I was still high after surgery and we needed to stop at Taco Bell afterwards so I could get a burrito.

Now that was many years ago, and a few years ago I did have a nice out-patient surgery and they gave me Dilaudid. Which was very nice, very nice indeed.

For the opioid naive, Demerol is an amazing high. For those who are experienced with better opioids...it is not as amazing.

Guys - if anyone is serious about using this (or anything else that's unproven on SS) to CTB, please do your research on dosage/success rates/complications/etc.

I'm still researching (reading the various overdose reports found on Google), and trying to find something more concreate, but the actual mg amount to overdose varies from report to report. I have two friends with IBS; they advised me where to buy it in bulk, so I'm still stock-piling in case I find something regarding it's effectiveness, as apparently packs of 30 are hard to get in the UK. If I can't find anything whilst researching then I'll donate the capsules to them.

I've read that quinine helps the loperimide cross the blood brain barrier. The side effects are drowsiness and shallow breathing so it may be successful in a high dose.

I'll keep trying to find more.
