I am not planning on living till the end of 2026. I am an extremely unattractive, gross and horrible person. I disgust myself in every way describable. My life is meaningless, I genuinely don't deserve anything. I wanna look into the sun because I am curious and wanna see the solar eclipse but I forgot to buy glasses and honestly I don't really care I am a very funny person I say. I don't gain anything from looking directly into it ig but I wouldn't have to be curious anymore. LOL

I don't wanna be completely blind tho, I really love deadlock

In Macedonia we had our last solar eclipse way back in 1999 when i was 12 years old. I looked at the solar eclipse with my naked eyes few times (each time lasting no more than 2 seconds!!!) and I hadn't had any permanent damage to my eyes.

You shouldn't look at the sun at all. The sun in 2026 seems a lot warmer than the one we had in 1999 (older generations can confirm this) So even just brief looking at the eclipse might damage your eyes.

i looked at the sun too long when i was small and permanently can't see any thing in the middle of my left eyeball.. when both my eyes are open some how my brain makes that spot disappear, but if i have my right eye closed then i can't see any thing in the center of my vision.. it isn't even a color i can describe really.. it looks like the "color" of a bright flash when some one takes a picture..

but any way, some times even when people buy the special glasses they still get damage because some times scammers just sell you normal glasses that don't actually do much protection.. for me the eclipse isn't even worth looking at directly even if you have special glasses.. it's just boring and the pictures you see of it on TV or internet later are much more interesting, and in my opinion the actual cool effect of the solar eclipse is that every thing on earth is shaded weirdly for a while, so who cares about what a dot in the sky looks like; people are staring at that instead of the actual cool effect of having the world shaded in a weird/unusual way..

but it's your eyeballs i guess.. you and me can both have eye damage together, and so won't that be lots of fun..

My understanding is that Solar eclipses aren't an unusually dangerous time to look at the sun, its just a time more people are likely to look at the sun AND many people perceive the risk to be less. This also means its like looking at the sun at any time. A second or two is probably not going to cause much lasting damage, you just have to make sure you don't make a habit out of it. A glance or two isn't anything to worry about, but any longer will risk burning a hole in your retina and there isn't anything we can do about that.
