journalists have a set of ethics that prevent (most of) them from disclosing the method of suicide, i believe, out of concern for copycat crimes. after articles on carbon monoxide suicides were published the number of suicides by that method increased sharply iirc. same with jumping. i think sometimes they're even reluctant to label it as a suicide.
