It's going to be a long drawn out process, if you dont live alone then it's likely it wont go unnoticed you may experience delirium, headaches etc. Its usually done by end of life patients who would be given palliative care to assist with the symptoms Vsed comes with to make them comfortable with meds.

Good luck with that method , i would consider jumping , only last a few seconds , scarier but no pain if high enough and you die on impact.

I've always like the idea and symbolism of VSED, and the thought of detaching from everything on this mortal plane to become truly non-attached. I've tried it before and had to give up after only 2 days though due to the thirst. I might try water fasting instead because I think it's more reasonable and achievable.

people can survive shockingly long on water fasts. I've seen people go for lengths of times you'd think "surely they must be dead" on water alone, or sometimes with a black coffee every once in a blue moon, on an eating disorder forum I've been a part of.

I'm pretty sure one guy made it to like 73 days before someone in his personal life made him start at least having juice or something. I know it was a ridiculous amount of time

electrolyte will go low first and you end up in delirium with seizures. next Lack of vitamine b1 will give you wet brain. Its just not feasible toturing yourself to death over many weeks. you will need a secluded place where noone will ever check on you too. its just not a method one should consider tbh.

I've been really interested in fasting lately and I was looking up what it took Christian Bale to get as emaciated as he did for the Machinist. Apparently it was only 1 apple a day, coffee cigs and sometimes whiskey. Dunno how long that took him. I completed a 5 day fast last week with a 1 day break in between , so technically not 5 consecutive days. Gonna try 4 starting today, but I'm mostly doing this so I can get as frail as possible prior to taking SN. I may have to give up, I have the kind of metabolism that is very slow, gains fat+muscle very easily, but then is very resistant to losing both, so I suspect from my half dozen or so fasting attempts that I wouldn't be able to do VSED.

It's not a fun process though, and it's monks who have trained in meditation for a long time, so they have the mental fortitude for extreme discomfort. If anyone was truly set on VSED then training mentally would probably be mandatory because with how available food is in our world, just about anyone would break mentally and just run towards the nearest food once the negative sensation became torturous enough.
