i see my psychologist in about 7 hours. he knows im suicidal, ive been able to speak in depth-ish without getting sectioned, so im not certain that will happen if i talk to him. if it doesnt happen, im probably going to do it. the only reason i havent yet is becuase id feel guilt from upsetting that, but i need to just get over that

Perhaps I'll be important when I'm long gone?

Trust me, being sectioned isn't the least bit helpful. Especially when you're suicidal. Quite the opposite. Nothing worse than being watched when you do absolutely everything (don't think I'm kidding, because I'm not).. and being treated like a baby. It's absolute hell.

They will not section you straight away. You'll have to refuse voluntary to be sectioned (good luck leaving voluntary too, but it is WAY easier than a section, so I'd recommend that). They can forcibly medicate you on a section (luckily I wasn't on a section for treatment and medication doesn't do shit for trauma, so they didn't - I'm not on any meds), they can literally pin you down and inject you. Don't think they won't. They can forcibly give you electric shock also, but again, it depends on what your section says. It is up to the doctors, not you. A section means they take the decision out of your hands.

All they will do is sit on top of you 24 hours a day, including when you're sleeping, showering, going to the toilet (luckily I was trusted from day one, because I am good at pretending, so I wasn't watched while on the toilet or showering etc - I was on 'eyesight'). Don't think you'll get a door, it'll be a piece of magnetic fabric. It won't help you. You'll feel worse.

If you refuse to go to a section they can literally drag you away in handcuffs and do whatever it takes to force you to go (I complied but refused voluntary).

Pick voluntary so you get some privacy and peace. You do not want a section. It is LEGAL. They can do what they want to you, essentially. And there's fuck all you can do about it.

Sounds like you don't want to die or you wouldn't have said you're doing it if they don't section you. Usually it's the other way round - you've tried so they are sectioning you, because in their eyes you have 'lost' capacity (total bullshit).

You need a loss of capacity (in their eyes) to be sectioned. It isn't as simple as you think. It is very complicated and long as fuck, and really fucking scary also. A private ambulance with mental health nurses in a black van will come and take you away. You won't be able to move much once in the van.

You'll be searched from head to toe (strip searched if they think you have something on you to hurt yourself while in hospital - luckily I didn't do that and was honest). You'll be treated like a literal criminal and it'll likely make you lose trust in everything. That's what a section is. It isn't nice

Sounds like you want hospital so make sure you aren't sectioned or ALL of your rights and freedom will be taken away. PICK VOLUNTARY!!! All the best

ive been sectioned before, i know how unhelpful it is. it was nowhere near as bad as your describing, maybe the place i went to was just better, but it was nothing like that with me. i did get cuffed, thats it.
i do want to die, i just feel bad because i like him, thats the only reason i havent yet. telling him about it this last time is my one way of getting over that guilt, so at least he wont be in the dark. i dont want to recover at all, so i wont pick voluntary. i dont want to get sectioned, its only something that would happen if he makes me. if that happens, ill do it when i get out. if it doesnt happen, ill do it before i see him again. its just about removing the guilt

You were lucky, especially because you were dragged away. All hospitals are different, I know. Some are luckier than others, definitely. Others have had a 100x worse experience than myself, so I see myself as lucky. It depends what you're in for also.

Your therapist can't force you, only the consultant doctors can that come out and assess you for section.

Do you mean the guilt of hurting people? I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Do you think being sectioned will remove the guilt, even though you're going to kill yourself afterwards? It's ok to feel that way you know, but it isn't your fault.

Could you leave a note to help with that? I know it won't be a 100% comfort, but a lot wonder why a loved one killed themselves, and sometimes a note can bring a bit of comfort, so they understand why.

the guilt of hurting my therapist, i mean. im very close with him. its not that being sectioned will remove the guilt, telling him about what i want will remove the guilt. and being sectioned may come as a result
ive thought about just doing a note, but i dont have any way to get one to him without it being suspicious

That makes sense. You could tell him so he at least knows. It doesn't mean he will try to get you sectioned though, it depends. Some therapists are understanding about suicide, believe it or not. He may just want to talk it through with you.

See how you feel when your appointment starts
