God was an absentee parent. He impregnated Mary and left before his kid was even born. He didn't visit and never even sent his kid a birthday card. He could turn someone into a pillar of salt when it suited him but he didn't lift a finger when his own son was executed? If that's how he treats his own family it's no wonder he doesn't bother answering prayers. And poor old Jesus still thinks God is the best thing since sliced bread?

Most parents would sacrifice themselves for their children. Bit mean of God to make Jesus a scapegoat for everyone else. And the cherry on the top is that God did this to appease HIMSELF!! I think God needs therapy at the very least.

Yeah, I'm not overly religious but I was under the understanding that Jesus/God/Holy Spirit were somehow all one. Not sure who watched over heaven/the earth while God was being Jesus though... Guess being omnipotent, you can be in more than one place at once.

Thought maybe he 'became' Jesus to check out what it was actually like to be human and impart his teachings. Then, sacrifice himself for us- to show there was an afterlife maybe?

I've always thought it was very poor parenting to let his son die like that if they are supposed to be separate. Think the argument is that he did it because he loves humanity so much. Think giving Jesus wings or something at that moment would have been better.
