  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Per the subject, just curious how did you do it since Moneygram requires:

- Your personal information (real name and address)
- Recipient full name

BTW, I am in the US.

How so? I never used MG/WU, but they're both seems to be the same:

- can do online or in person
- can use debit / credit card for sending
- can do cash pick up for receiver

From personal experience, MG is more likely to call you and question you about 'suspicious transaction' (not really suspicious but ask how you know the person you're sending money to etc etc.) happens when cross borders.

But not always.

I'm guessing this is Re sending money to D. Probably Bitcoin is preferable but understand that maybe difficult.

Yes, this is for sending money to D. I have problem with BTC, so looking at other options.

So based on your experience, WU doesn't call people, whether you send via online or in-person?

I used WU. You have to go in person and pay cash. D doesn't accept payment by credit card. He says that due to fraud concerns that WU/MG will block any money transfers to Mexico by credit card. The lady didn't ask me any questions. I just told her I would like to make a money transfer to Mexico. I gave her my information and then D's contact information. She filled the form out for me. It only took 5 minutes. If they ask you who D is or what the reason is that you are sending money, tell them that you are sending a gift to a relative or a friend.

For the recipient info, does WU asked the same thing as MG?

MG only ask for first and last name and country. That's it. It's available to pick up in ANY location in the country of destination.

Try Not to worry. Tell D that you want to pay with WU. He will send you an email giving you his contact information and explaining in detail exactly what to do. Follow it to the letter. Everything will be fine. D knows what he is doing.

If I remember, I think WU asks for the recipient's full name and the city, state, postal code, and country of the recipient. Also D will tell you which location to send the money to for pickup.

I have a question, I realized that WU takes profit when converting currencies, do I have to take it into account and add the difference of $200 on top of the $1100 ( to import to Europe) ? Thank you
