Having BPD, I can relate to Inner Critic by Citizen Soldier. Like they say "Where words fail, music speaks."

FOB - My Heart Is The Worst Kind Of Weapon

IK its a song about romantic cheating / cheaters, but really i think other meanings can be attached to certain parts of it.

Every line is plotted and designed to leave you
Standing on your bedroom window's ledge
And everyone else
That it hits, that it gets to
Is nothing more than collateral damage

A single song for my entire life… that's tough. I'd probably go with "Gehenna", given just how long I've been like this, and my experiences with other people and trying to deal with things.

As for why… I guess it's sort of the way the song is framed. The lyric video really adds on to it, given that it adds unspoken lines that sort of show what the singer is thinking (e.g., unspoken "I don't want to stay alive", followed by a flash of "IMPROPER STATEMENT", and then a spoken "I want to stay alive").

The ending also really stands out to me. Shortly after the singer starts saying how they really feel, there is the sound of a door closing. It's unclear who closed the door. But I've always felt that it wasn't the singer who left, but the audience. Once the singer started making "improper statements" again, they were left on their own.
