Discussion If there was a button which would make you painlessly die would you press it?

you get the chance to press a button which does the following

-makes you die
-no pain while dying , no suffocation effect , not any kind of effect that makes you feel well in pain
-you will achieve whatever you want after ctb ( meaning there would be an afterlife or hell or torture or non existance// complete darkness // wtv you want it to be but you can only decide it ONE singular time )
-you can decide when you want your death to be discovered

Would you do it? I certainly would i cant stand this cruel world anymore and i dont think the world wants me anymore either

Only thing stopping me is fear of failure and remaining alive with brain damage.

And I don't have a choice after Death is non-existence forever but that's what I want .

government creeps made all guaranteed suicide methods into crimes like someone else helping you with suicide so they stole all our buttons to escape extreme torture or extreme suffering.

Only thing I can do is shoot myself with a shotgun, and the trigger is the closest thing to a button

there are no magical powers. all i have is this brain and hands to do anything to get out of this hell. wishing for magic buttons or that i'd be dead won't do anything. just massive action on my part will but that's a huge problem for me cause i'm so brainwashed to think i have to do other meaningless garbage not for my goals and so lazy, low energy etc.

I'd probably buy the button and save it for a particularly bad day.

I'm gradually getting better. I just haven't hit the part where I want to live for me. I've just accepted that I can't do it without hurting people. I'm also trying to accept that I deserve to be treated with kindness and respect, including by myself. I don't know how to move on from someone that was both really loving and really mean and occasionally a little abusive and angry. My whole body wants them back, but it would be a version of self harm to pursue it. There's no solution other than hurting for a while. I love so deeply that it's keeping me alive. It just sucks that I won't be able to have romantic love for a while because they hurt and abandoned me.

That's basically a roundabout way of saying not today, but I would probably hide it away.

in this case ( atleast the choice im offering in this senario) it can only delay the time your loved ones get to know about your death , otherwise it cant really make them not feel pain if they love you

Yes and such is all I hope and wish for, I just want to never suffer ever again with this cruel, torturous existence all gone and forgotten for me, I just wish for no more pain and no more suffering rather I only hope to never wake ever again, a peaceful death would solve everything for me and bring me the relief I search for from this existence I always saw as a mistake.

To me existence really is an abomination that just causes harm and suffering until all is finally gone in non-existence anyway and I'll always find it so dreadful to exist, I find it so terrifying how a human can exist for so long with no limit as to how much agony they can feel just to be tortured by old age and cease existing anyway, for me non-existence really is all that's positive and desirable for me and if it's up to me I'd choose to permanently erase my existence so it's like I never suffered at all.

The closest thing to pressing that button would be to pull the trigger of a gun (preferably a shotgun). It's quick and painless.

It's a difficult question - especially in the case when a situation isn't that bad but still bad.

Currently (immediately) I wouldn't press that button - bc I have some hope left.

In certain situations I would definitely press that button!

Objectively we could press this button (if it existed) at any time bc it doesn't matter and we can't take anything with us onto the other side but subjectively it's not that easy bc some of us might still enjoy some parts of their lives or even have some hope left.
