think of any other species and none of them must pay bills, have to deal with the rising cost of living crisis, work, nor contribute in any meaningful way, what makes us so special, what a shitshow, a shitshow none of us asked for or signed upto, sounds legit dont it, i get insulted when i hear the words gift and existence in the same sentence, it just seems to be inherent suffering and hardship, we are testament to that are we not ?, do normies deny the reality in there arrogance and ignorance ? what do you guys/gals think ?

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know

Life is not a gift . Life is prison torture slavery, an imposition , a scam an evil.

Yeah life is hell in so many ways now . but even 300,000 years ago when modern humans evolved life was still terrible . You had to walk in the dirt for miles to find an animal to kill . now it's the groceries shopping labor. All this work just to have to feed yourself 3 times a day. for other animals life is suffering too, also always hungry always thirsty always cold . there are ticks predators , bacteria diseases old age , that then and now were a threat to both humans and other animals.

Animals have work to find food and water keep away from predators hunt kill other animals for food etc. too. just like humans did back before civilization and tech. but now humans or course are still suffering . The problem is DNA based life . even domestic animals now get painful dieses and can feel pain . life is the only function in the universe that causes pain and suffering.

If life is a gift why can't I return it or exchange it for another one? Life is no gift. It's a curse. At least for me it has been. Having a disease ridden, failing body hasn't helped.

I wouldn't want to do that. I had no say-so about coming into this life, and chances are I'd have no say-so about coming into another one, if that were indeed possible, and the next life might be even worse than the one I have now. I don't want to exchange mine. Out is good enough for me.

I see existence as being a burden and a curse instead, I think it's such a terrible thing having the ability to suffer endlessly in this hellish reality, to me existing is truly just pointless and unnecessary suffering, there should just be nothingness instead, I see it as being such a cruel mistake how life even exists at all. And I think that those who label existence as being a "gift" are blinded by delusions.

I do agree. I hate capitalism! That said- I don't think animals have it easy either. Do you really think you'd be able to survive in the wild? I know I wouldn't! That would definitely be a way for me to CTB... I'd most likely eat something poisonous on day one, catch hypothermia overnight and do myself some injury, or get eaten by a predator the next day.

I'm guessing money simply came about as a new means to trade. Someone in a community maybe was better at fishing, someone at farming, someone at building huts. Back in the day- they likely just swapped goods or favours for one another but I guess as populations grew and small groups- or companies sprang up- it made maybe more sense to pay someone in coins that could be spent anywhere- rather than potatoes or fish- which couldn't. Money makes sense as a thing (to me anyhow.) It's just so shit how it has ended up being distributed though. How some jobs pay atronomically more than others. How anyone should be expected to work for less than enough to sustain themselves.

But yeah- I agree with the overall sentiment. I hate being a wage slave. I hate it that we're just born into this system and expected to become little worker ants in it. I don't think I'd fair any better as an animal though to be honest! Lol.

Yes, i agree with you. People depict life as a gift, saying you should live it to its fullest. If it is really such a gift why the hell is it so torturous and so expensive? And why are people so horrible to you all the time.. At least you can dispose of that unsought "gift." Only when no one's around though, or else you would be labeled as a crazy person. :/

Heard a kid basically asking their mum the same thing as this in the supermarket because it's them who ask the questions and adults that think they know them all

There is a photo which I won't post as it's absolutely soul crushing (to me anyway). The photo depicts an orangutan reaching out to stop loggers as they absolutely devastate the rain forest around him. It haunts me.

Not only that but in this world many people suffer to prop up and provide luxuries to a few. Yet we see this system and normal and natural.

I think initially the notion of a life being a gift is wrong. It's not. It's an accident and nothing more. It just so happened that this planet was the only perfect place in our vast universe for the emergence of life. But. For those who claim that life is indeed a gift, it's a bloody good argument:))

I agree that life is foremost a burden, one is involuntary forced into. Yet, one can't deny all the joy, adventures, achievements, great love stories etc that do happen, if that burden is engaged. I still see all its beauty and wonder, as well as its misery and depravity. To be thankful is not really about truth or a correct view of things. It is simply a way to approach things. Open to some, closed to others. Sensible to some, far off to others. As an empty slogan it really does not hold up. Or a sensibility naturally following from "objective" nature of life.
What pains me the most is that I believe in the "good life", but that I probably got myself excluded from it, condemned to watch from the outside, looking in. Still it is on my agenda to becgreatful as long as I go on. And you can very well do that without fooling you.
But yeah, I like to talk the talk...
