Americans have easy access to firearms.

It's a very trusted method, so I don't understand why Americans don't just buy a gun and get it done.

Here in the UK it's a different story.

I think there are a lot more trains in the UK than the US, no? So maybe the Americans think something similar about the British.

I know someone who jumped under a train.

Lost both his legs, but survived.

Now he's fucked.

A gunshot to the head is much more reliable.

i have heard firearms are the most prevelant method there too, i would love to have been a us citizen 🥺 they do many things better there than in the uk, imho they have a lot of protections too under there amendment laws, we dont, plus uk citizens are legally titled mere subjects, look that up and what it entails 🥺, makes for pretty grim reading, it shows how they view us the joe public, but defos getting a gun in the uk is impossible more or less, it does sound providing you get it correct about the quickest method to obtain you can have, i would have honestly loved to have emigrated to the us but realise it aint happening, can barely leave my house, gun ownership apparently there is quite easy too, as long you have a licence ?, this is quite alien to anybody living in the uk i would imagine 🥺🙏

Guns fail a lot. The recoil would move your hand and you'd blow off a chunk of your head and live

Parts of the USA seem to be flooded with Fentenyl. This seems more peaceful than a gun.

Many people are too scared of that method, it's a brutal one. Personally I couldn't do it.

Guns are either really easy to get or very hard to get, depending on where you are in the country.

A lot of places they aren't illegal, but are so hard to get they might as well be.

Guns "can" be easy to get here in the UK

If i was inclined i could waltz around with several bernelli and S&W pump actions, depending on my theoretical location 😉

I'm also from the UK and it's true that suicide really is so difficult and inaccessible here with limited access to suicide method options. I certainly hate how things are this way, this country really is so anti suicide.
However I would personally fear the gun method going wrong and leading to horrific damage and it also sounds so brutal but at least Americans have it as an option, I just wish that Nembutal was legalised but sadly it's not even available. It's such a hellish world where people cannot pass away in peace without risks, complications and the chance of suffering even more from a failed attempt, the thought of failing suicide really is so terrifying to me.

I am terrified of guns. Trying to obtain one, possessing it, and actually using it on myself sounds impossible. I don't think I could do it. Survival instinct would be way too strong the whole way through and the fear of failing and being permanently severely disabled would be enough to make me stop.

I wish I could do it.

Gunshot is too messy, most people who CTB want nothing to do with guns

From the u.s. their are alot of gun suicides but never considered it for myself. If you fail that seems like the worst situation to me. Also the mess.. someone's got to clean that up and I want my death to be as little traumatizing to others as possible. Shot guns but never liked them. Cant you order gun kits? I know a bunch of people with ghost guns just need a bouring drill or something then order the parts. Ammo might be hard to get though.

Funny enough, I stop considering attempting until I recently found a gun belonging to my uncle due to the lack of available methods.

If I had a gun I'd be long gone, really sucks here in UK, with a gun it's not long drawn out and is a high success rate. I'm honestly envious of those who have access to firearms. I fucking hate my life

I feel the same. It seems like a lot of us in the UK look at the USA as allowing people the freedom to end themselves. But in reality, if drinking SN is scary, then aiming essentially a small cannon at your head is even scarier. With a gun, you need to make sure you do it right first time cuz you probably won't get a 2nd chance if you botch it.

Both the UK AND USA are inferior to Switz, NL and BE that have legal assisted dying. Imagine the headache taken out of it. All you need to do is let someone make you a drink with the right dose of everything in it and it is guaranteed to make you go to sleep forever?!

To me aiming a gun at my head isn't as scary and especially not as long drawn out as SN method. Gun would be way better option imo.
I agree with assisted suicide though that would be ideal.
