If I lived in the Middle Ages, I would have died 3 times by now. I had spontaneous pneumothorax surgery at the age of 20. I had a supraventricular tachycardia attack at the age of 30. Supraventricular tachycardia again in 35. Now fuck I'm still here. What about you? Would you still be alive without modern medicine?

Given that I suffer from a neurological disorder, I would probably have been considered "hysteric", locked up and left to rot in some cellar.

I am actually grateful every day that I live in a day and age where I can suffer in the comfort of my own home.

Nope. Like you, I had about three instances of dying-if-not with modern surgery. Survival of the fittest failed.
