Depends on what it entails however, as I have said time and time again, the only afterlife that makes sense is the one presented at the end of The Good Place. If I had proof that that was the afterlife in store for me I'd probably just kill myself right away.

We're all going to die anyway, so what difference would it make if there was some kind of afterlife or not? It doesn't change anything about this life we're living now.

Because we want novelty!! oh yea that brand new car smell.. all the bells and whistles that nice new pair of clothes. Ohh yea that good Ol comforting feeling of "please get me outta here I'm having a horrible time and Im not comfortable in my own skin anymore.. I don't actually want to die I want to live but I can't anymore because I feel trapped within my own environment.. body.. is there anything better than this im not sure is there? I mean 0 brain activity means I can't even think anymore breathe or experience anything.. should I fight to exercise an hour a day and capitalize on a job start a family or forget it we have global warming and overpopulation.. we are depleting our planet and brewing new diseases and viruses.. but is there anything after this should I keep fighting and struggling ?? My parents are dead I'm alone I'm stuck in my situation college is over I have bills to pay.. I made a financial mistake I'm filing for bankruptcy.. what happens when I die is there something better than this? What if I was born in a third word country?? I should be grateful right? What happens what happens??"

If the afterlife was proven to exist then that would be horrifying to me. I want eternal nothingness. However I believe that I still would ctb as I want to be free from my life. I am so tired of my existence and maybe what ever is on the other side might not be as bad as this life.

What stopped me from actually taking the thought of suicide seriously was the fear of the unknown.

I kinda crossed that line where I really can't care about this unknown anymore. If I know that the afterlife exists, then yes I would probably be more inclined to ctb.

Imo there is no afterlife no reincarnation. Many decades of scientific experiments imo show a human is just another very brief small animal nothing after death.

Hundreds of years of Scientific research in many areas such as a evolution, DNA, brain science , law of entropy imo prove after death is eternal nothingness , nonexistence forever and that is the best thing for me.
Charles Darwin wrote a book "origin of species" in 1859 : imo that is the truth shows what a human is .all experiments from scientists and my own experiments ( from the brain books) have shown all this to be true

With respect, outside of religion, there's been secular and scholarly research by the likes of Dr. Ian Steveson, Dr. Brian Weiss and Dr. Michael Newton documenting empirical evidence of reincarnation.

The reason it's not more widely researched is that the investigation of the paranormal isn't really an ideal career path for tenured academics. Especially Ivy-League ones.

And I say all that as an atheist.
