If you had to make a choice between 2 buttons, one of them lets you live your vision of the most ideal life, the other one lets you die your most idealized death, which would you pick?

my ideal life is my ideal death. either option is the freedom to have what i want most. i suppose ideal death would more readily include the capacity to alter it at a whim in ways this reality doesn't allow. a rough draft of that taken to its extreme would be a universal lucid dream. everyone's invited

edit: this is working under the impression that death is a state of being instead of an event ,,,, i don't know which choice makes more sense sorry i've overthought this now z_z

If I had any form of hope on this world, I'd stay and create something meaningful.

It's clear to me though that that's not happening.

I'm divided on this. My ideal life feels so unobtainable now that ideal death seems like the only "option" even in this hypothetical situation.

If I could return to the period where my mental state was the best and I could be with my boyfriend again though, I would definitely choose that.

The former isn't a realistic option - there is no do-overs no second chances or respawns in life. You were dealt the hand you were dealt with and probably tried your best to make something of it… but here we are on this site.

The ideal death (efficient/reliable) is the best I can hope for.

It's not about being realistic, it's about if you had a magic button that could give you what you wished for would you press it

Yes I understand my mindset is just a certain way at the moment - sorry.

Hypothetically yes I would have liked to see what my life not being adopted would be like. Growing up with people I share blood with. Knowing my parents and were I come from / what my name is. Being a part of my older sister's life and having the chance to take care of her and protect her from this world. It hurts to think about but yeah the life that was taken from me I want more than anything. But it's not possible.

Ideal life is a bit of an oxymoron. The state of living is inherently flawed from the beginning. Are you referring to a utopic, dreamy experience vs eternal nothingness? If so, then I have no preference, both sound ideal to me.

Ideal life without a doubt. It would bring my partner back, I'd be in our little flat with him, my PhD research back on track, my career in teaching back in good health.

I don't believe an ideal life exists. It's like thinking life would be ok if you had magical powers. Life to me is just a whole long series of problems to solve or suffer. Death is hopefully the permanent end to all those problems. So- an ideal death would be ideal.

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know

I will never want anything to do with evil life or this evil world

I do want an ideal way to achieve my Death asap, a guaranteed , painless , quick way

1 second after my brain dies i will cease to exist for all time. That means all of my problems solved instantly and forever, never any pain or suffering, no bad memories

Non-existence forever is the only guarantee of never suffering extremely . eternal non-existence is the only safety from pain or suffering so bad it's a trillion times worse than you can imagine.

Non-existence foreever is the only thing in which there is zero chance of pain suffering problems bad memories . Thus eternal non-existence is the only perfection

For me only non-existence is ideal and it's all I hope for, I only wish to be permanently unconscious with no more pain, no more suffering, I just wish for all to finally be gone and forgotten about for me, no matter what I'll always see it as so dreadful to be enslaved in this torturous existence of suffering all for the sake of it just waiting to not exist anyway. Existence to me is the problem that just causes suffering with no limit as to how much agony one can feel and it's all just so cruel, more than anything I wish I was never forced to suffer.

I see it as so tragic how this existence was even imposed, to me existence really will always be the most terrible tragic mistake that just causes harm and suffering and I'd just always prefer to not exist than suffer all for the sake of it just to be tortured by old age and cease existing anyway, I find it horrific how a human can be enslaved in this existence of unnecessary suffering and cruelty for so long, I personally just don't want to suffer at all I only hope for non-existence.
