I think it's awful that it's frowned upon so much, to the point that drugs that would make the process painless, peaceful and dignified are impossible to acquire where I live. I can either go with less reliable methods in hopes they will succeed, or go with far more brutal methods with a high success rate.

I don't want to traumatise someone by leaving a deformed, mangled body behind. I don't want to die in pain, or worse, survive with excruciating health consequences.

The right to die a dignified and peaceful death should be a human right.

If life is a human right, so should death on our terms, not someone else's, not society's. It's my life. I did not choose to be here. I did not ask to live. Staying should be a choice, not an obligation.

I have said it before but I reserve the right to end my life when I choose with reasons that are my own, and I support others choice to do the same.

But yeah I agree that future generations will look back at how we treat suicidal people and think at how barbaric we treat those that are sick both mentally and physically. Forcing us to stay alive despite suffering tremendously.

I 100% agree with @Deathbydemo , excellent post. I have 24/7 chronic pain and it WILL be my choice to stay or go, NOT any government or anyone else. Walter
