Maybe if the entire world was different, I might find the will to live. If people didn't have to work 2 jobs just to have a roof over their head, if a broken leg didn't send them into medical debt, if the entire fking planet wasn't on fire and dying from our own selfish, wasteful ways.
The world sucks. There is not "safe" country. There is corruption, greed, and suffering everywhere. I read books to escape, and I recently finished one and realized "if I lived in that world, full of universal equity and compassion, I wouldn't be suicidal." Maybe depressed, but not this bad.
There is no healing in a toxic environment (and I'm not just talking about the PFAS in our rainwater). People live in delusion thinking things will get better. Gen Z is growing up realizing their parents were poor, worked hard, and are now poorer than ever. This shit is rigged, and it boggles me that people are happy to be used so some rich fuck can get richer. You do everything right and still lose.
