  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I guess many of you have the same feeling?
I can't exist anymore, the mental pain i experience everyday is just too much and i have no more hope. i tried everything, from therapy to antidepressant.

On the other hand i just can't commit suicide. SI kicks in and doesn't let me go and i'm afraid what comes after it. I'm trapped in this world and just want peace.

I feel exactly the same about this. I definitely want to die and even have a date set for it, but the fear of continuing to exist and having things get worse will probably stop me from doing it when the time comes.

I think what we really want isn't death, but nonexistence instead. Some people think those two words have the same exact meaning, but I have no idea if that's the case. To not exist is something I want more than anything, so hopefully dying will help me achieve it somehow.

My idea has always been that there's no difference between the non-existence before birth vs. the non-existence after death, so it's something I don't think about much.

I don't worry about religious stuff either due to the volume of religions and strict incompatibilities between doctrines.

Many of us are stuck in this predicament. It's very hard to make an absolute commitment to something while only 80% sure it's the right thing to do. Yet a lot of misery can continue in the meantime. It sucks.

You can join my religion. Well, it's not really mine. You can transfer your consciousness to your desired reality by scripting on paper what you want in your next reality. You can even wake up with memories of your previous life if you want! It's called reality shifting, and you don't even need to die to shift.

I know how you feel. I am sorry for your suffering. I have had the same problem for years. Survival instinct is a very deeply hidden force that only kicks in once we are on the verge of actual danger of death.

I am sorry and I hope you find strength to live your life without losing track like I have.

being afraid of death is being afraid of literally nothing.

I don't know what religious beliefs people hold but there is no such thing as reincarnation. It's not a question of my beliefs, science has found no evidence of anyone being reincarnated.

It's just a bandaid that we as humans use to make sense of the unending suffering that some of us face in this life. It makes us miserable to the point where we start to question whether there is a "next life" that is better or whether the suffering of this life is because of "sins" of a previous life (see : Hinduism). None of these concepts are empirically observed or supported by science.

Religion should ideally teach humanity and kindness but is just a means of terrorizing people with the idea of hell or divine punishment for activities that the prudish consider as "evil".

None of these concepts should stop anyone from living their best life as long as they don't hurt others in any way.

Science has also not found that there is just nothing or peace after it. That's the point, of not knowing what comes.

I agree with you about before birth and after death. For me, I don't want to die - I want to be dead - and return to my non-existence throughout eternity

Yes I'm petrified of what comes after death. I'm not sure on my beliefs, I don't like the thought of reincarnation, what if the next life is worse than the life i currently have. I like to believe theres nothing after this life like there was nothing before we were born. I did go see a medium once than relayed a message from a relative who passed away so maybe there is an afterlife. I guess we wont know until were gone.

But how does one prove a negative?

I say there's an invisible blue mouse sitting on your shoulder. Now prove to me there isn't.

There's a forest in outer space where thousands of unicorns live. Prove to me there isn't.

And if you can't, what does that mean; that neither of us really know the truth?

If there's an afterlife, its existence needs to be proven, not its non-existence.

NOTE: this is not me trying to change your mind about what you believe. I promise. Just pointing out that it's impractical to ask science (or anyone) to prove an invisible place doesn't exist.

Edit: My apologies. I just realized you were talking about reincarnation and not the afterlife. But I think the same logic should apply.

There is no point to fearing death itself, as there is no escaping it. It's our fate as humans to die, whether we die now or in 50 years makes little difference at the end of the day, apart from dying sooner would prevent unnecessary suffering being experienced where we could had potentially been tortured to such an extreme extent. But death is the most normal thing ever, I could never be afraid of death, in fact the thought of being gone comforts me as I believe that we simply cease to exist and that is it for us, we are not even aware that we are dead.

Any afterlife theories are fictional to me, there is no purpose or deeper meaning to life, life just exists as a consequence of evolution. Instead I only fear this horrific existence and the thought of suicide methods failing. But I do understand feeling trapped here in this world and it really can be so awful and tiring when you wish to leave yet you feel unable to. It's incredibly unfair how suicide is this difficult for us, we shouldn't have to struggle so much to leave behind a life that we never even asked for in the first place.
