I don't care if being committed sucks, or if it's like prison for the suicidal. I don't even care if i end up worse afterwards, i just want... need something to happen. every meme, comment, shitpost i make is a cry for help hoping that someone out there calls the cops and tells them to take me away. but i cant muster up the courage to just say it outright, or to commit myself.

People send comments and messages expressing their worry and concern online all the time, but i always struggle to believe it it's even real. I'm a worthless, selfish piece of shit. why would they even care, they don't know me. that don't even know what i look like. i just post shitposts on social media, that's it. why would they give a single shit about me. why would anyone give a shit about me. i wouldn't even give a shit about me.

someone please just take me away already. send cops to my dorm, break down my door, strap me to a stretcher and lock me away in a padded room or something.

If you don't mind the experience, even if it turns out to be bad, I think you can easily admit yourself.

No need to call the cops, you just walk to a psych ward and ask to get admitted.

it's easy to do this. call 988 or call your emergency number for your country and just say you're imminently suicidal and may commit suicide immediately unless you are evaluated at an ER and there needs to be a welfare check on yourself.

Once you get to the ER, say you are imminently suicidal and plan on committing suicide immediately if you're released.

Several things about this:

you may be put in a different rights class as a involuntarily committed person (and won't be able to buy guns in certain countries)

you mentioned a dorm room. so the mental health locked facility will not care about your midterms and classes, etc. you should also make sure to memorize some numbers in case they don't let you keep your cell phone (out of concern you could record other patients). if you have nothing memorized, you can't call anyone.

you may want to email your school explaining you may need a medical leave of absence PRIOR to calling and just explaining you are dealing with a medical condition and hope they can accommodate your disability. Sometimes there are drop deadlines and so if you are past that, depending on your school policy, it could mess up your GPA.

you may be kept for a few weeks, medicated with something helpful, and let out... or you may not be let out for a month or two or longer... it's unknown.

finally, in some countries, like the USA, stays in a locked facility can cost tens of thousands of dollars, such as 40,000 for stay of a month or two. If you have insurance or can declare bankruptcy, this may be less of a concern. If you want to do a lot of schooling, bankruptcy may matter less. if you are not actually imminently suicidal, and don't need immediate locked care, this may be a financially bad decision, but it could also save your life if you are suicidal and impulsive but don't want to die. Insurance may cover the stay and you could call your insurance company prior to going.

if you are in college, you may have early symptoms of depression, bipolar disorder, or something else. mental health issues often emerge 18-20.

yeah, this is a good point, you can just walk to the ER and save yourself the ambulance bill or walk to a locked psych ward and request admissions..

The amount of times the police have been called out to me cause of my mental health in the past and they've never once sectioned me, the sad thing is, authorities also don't care or even if they do, convincing a mental health service you need help is a different story in my experience. Although I've found the police more helpful than mental health services in the past. They just came across more human to me at the time.

As others have said, you can try admitting yourself? And hopefully it helps you, but if they reject it and tell you, that you don't need it, it'll likely make you feel worse and unheard. I agree with claracatchingthebus though, if you are studying, try letting them know and hopefully they can support you through it.

Oh actually I do remember the police giving me a lift to hospital and back the same day once. I had OD'd and the two officers couldn't handle me throwing up, but I wasn't allowed to be left alone, so they had to take turns each leaving the room every time I started to throw up. I do find that amusing looking back.

im attending trads school for welding and i live on campus. i already graduated and finished my classes, in less than a month I'll be kicked out and have to leave, which is partially why I'm catching the bus.

i already know that i could call or text 988, mostly because my campus can stickers, signs, and magnets saying that everywhere you can see. but idk, i just can't bring myself to do it.

Have you tried "accidentally" saying something concerning or sending a graphic suicide meme to a mandated reporter (like a teacher)?

If you actually want to be admitted, it's much better to report yourself or walk in and do it... Most places will have some kind of mandatory 3-day admission or something for self-admitting, but after that if it isn't to your liking you can usually check yourself out because you are there voluntarily. If in there involuntarily, you lose a bit of control over your situation and if it isn't a pleasant place or helpful to you, it could make you feel worse.
