Venting I wanna change my appearance but my family dont approve

So I (20yo female) got helix piercing today, and I have been feeling recently about changing myself (getting nose piercing, one more nose piercing, getting a tattoo, mullet to be exact) and my mother just said to me "You cant accept yourself as you are and you are getting more and more extreme with your ideas every day"
And while I think I am a bit extreme at this point, I dont think it is anything bad to do all this.
What do you think? Please give me advice…

I totally agree with the others. You should be able to do whatever you want as an adult. If I were you, I'd try to argue with them. For example, you could have told to your mom: "Shouldn't family members always support each other?" or "No one cares about your opinion, mom" or something like that.

Before I got my first tattoo, I went to a handful of people I knew and asked them what they thought about it. I did not tell them it was for me or that I was thinking of getting a tattoo. I brought it up in a completely neutral manner so I could get an honest response. They all unanimously disapproved independently from each other.

I immediately called and booked my appointment.

I didn't start getting tattoos to be cool and make people like me.

I started getting them so people would dislike me and stay away.

You're young. A lot of people do it for the wrong reasons. They get older. They start to regret. They "change" and their tattoos "don't represent who they are anymore".

Don't get tattoos to be cool. Don't do it cause they look pretty. Do it because you want all the consequences of having them. Then it doesn't matter what anyone has to say about it. If you want people to like you for it, if you want your family to care, forget it. You'll regret them later.
