**Long version**

Like many of you I have toyed around with partial suspension before - both "practice runs" and serious attempt. The main problem was that it was taking too long and my face felt like exploding. I tried different placements and positions with little success. I started to think that full suspension was the only way.

Well I tried partial again and this time I just dropped down fast like I was going to sit on an invisible chair. I allowed my body to go fully limp. It felt like my neck was being stepped on and crushed. Within a few seconds I started to get really dizzy and light headed. You know that feeling you get when you accidentally inhale nitrous oxide from whip cream cans, it felt a lot like that.

Unfortunately out of sheer instinct I grabbed onto the rope immediately and pulled myself up. I am not positive but I think I was mere moments before passing out. I am still very upset that I aborted mid way but I think I finally figured out the secret. It takes a lot more pressure to close the arteries than you think. The reason why your face feels like exploding is because blood is still being pumped into your brain but it is being trapped there. You need to sink into the loop and have it close fast and tight.

This gives me more confidence that the next time will be when I get it right. I am going to take a weekend trip for myself (which I haven't done in years) and finally make peace. I think I am ready now.

1. It takes a lot more pressure to close the arteries than you think.

3. Let your body just go completely limp.
4. You should start to feel dizzy almost right away if you do it right.
5. Your neck will feel like its being crushed but you need to fight the urge to stand up (where I failed)

I dont have a rope, do you think this will be possible with a sheet? I cut my sheets up and attempted last night, similar situation to you. im going to try again soon but looking for advice.
random, but I read that drinking windex can make you drunk ? I was thinking that or inhaling it would help me. thoughts?

I think it is VERY IMPORTANT that you have the proper materials. CTB is not something you want to mess up. The consequences of botched attempts are grave.

I personally recommend a rope that is rated for climbing or towing. The rope I'm using is about the thickness of my index figure. The key is that you need to put a lot of pressure on your arteries, more than you think. A bed sheet is just too risky IMO to recommend.

Im absolutely desperate to finish this tonight. All I have are bedsheets, a full bottle of windex, floor cleaner and a months supply of lexapro. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Also, I live alone so no risk of being caught in the act

I think I messed up my earlier attempts because I didn't go fully limp. I kind of eased into it allowing my body to tense up. You need to sink down hard and fast. This means you need a strong anchor point and rope. I started to feel myself going within a few seconds.

When I was attempting before I was sitting for 30+ seconds with my face hurting. Now I know why - the arteries were not being closed all the way due to lack of pressure.

Please spare yourself any future pain and get a proper rope and proper anchor point. This is something you do not want to mess up. You owe yourself this.

I was also thinking I could force myself to hyperventilate while being tied up, so that ill lose consciousness while hanging

This is a great suggestion. Anything that will make the slip into unconsciousness faster is good. Next time I am going to have a few shots of alcohol to calm my nerves, hyperventilate right before and then let my body go completely limp. This should be it.

This is the closest I've been to success. All the other times I think I was too tensed and slow. The key takeaway I got from this experience is that it will take a lot more pressure than you think and you need to do it fast. I started to feel myself go within seconds. If you are just sitting in pain for more than 10 seconds abort and try it again next time.

Speaking of which counting down from 10 might help. Like when you get anesthesia for surgery. It keeps your mind off what you are doing.

I failed. Its very hard to do sober. Im going to buy tequila and either hang or jump from my building. I think jumping would be best for me

I just can't go completely limp that's the problem. The neck being crushed part is so horrifying 😥. Ughhhhh
