… in addition to student loans, credit cards and a defaulted card lease.

Is there any way out? I'm 31. Jobless. Recently diagnosed bipolar. I have no savings and nothing to show for my back taxes. It happened because I was dumb with crypto.

I don't see a way.

I guess contact one of those tax fighting companies? Idk otherwise. If you owe 30,000 in taxes, you must make a lot of money, no?

I owed taxes, and when I finally got an accountant, she got me on a monthly payment plan with the IRS. You'll be surprised what you can work out with them. You just need to get an accountant that won't overcharge you, and will get the job done, do your research. If you don't have the money to pay now to get it handled, when you do have the money, you can get on a monthly installment plan.

Bankruptcy will take care of the credit card debt and the car lease but not student loans or Federal Taxes---Crypto? hope you didn't caught in the LUNA disaster this week, from $81.00 to .00025 in just a few days--or the UST collapse from 1.00 to .14---

Those tax resolution places are scams. They'll promise to get you a deal, make you sign a contract, charge you a ton, and then not do a damn thing. It's better to deal directly with the IRS in most cases. Unfortunately, If you owe back taxes, there really isn't anything you can do to get out of it.

OP, you can get on a payment plan. They'll charge you interest, but it's better than having to pay it all at once.

Do you have any remaining credit left

If you do convert it into a cash equivalent and pay off your student loan or at least as much of it as you can

This, but pay the IRS. They're the ones who will take everything you have if you don't pay.

I agree with the advice to get a payment plan for the taxes. And I don't think you necessarily need an accountant to be able to do that. I think you can do it online, yourself.

Bankrupcy might be your best shot. (I did it in 1999 after an expensive divorce). Student loans arent forgiven but you might be able to work out payments. Can you work? Can you qualify for SSI or SSDI disability. If your bipolar is bad enough you might qualify.

Yes, you can get on the payment plan online, but you need to properly file your taxes first to see how much you truly owe, and get it in the system.

If your issues are simply financial, I would suggest that you really try to exhort all your options before making drastic decisions.

I know crypto sold a lot of people down the river. I'm really sorry to hear this.

Yeh pay the IRS and if the student loans are federal pay those as well.

Your government doesn't care about you. Best to be cynical when dealing with it .

Are you cute? Are you willing to do kinky shit over the Internet? Sell your body if that kind of stuff doesn't bother you. You can make crazy amounts of money that way. It amazes me how stupid people are when it comes to their money.

Edit: I'm assuming you're talking about euros, pounds, or dollars. Regardless, 30k of whatever really isn't that much money in the grand scheme of things. I know people who lose most of their paychecks every month at the casino, on drugs, porn, cigarettes, alcohol, junk food, and the like. Don't spend any money on that stupid fucking shit and it's amazing how quickly you'll build a nest egg.

30k is a lot of money to the average person, even in a rich country. It's not chump change.
Maybe for those of us who have money it's an easy amount to lose but a financial loss of that scale is enough to make some average joes homeless

I never said 30k was chump change, first world country or not.

I said in the grand scheme of things, 30k is NOT a lot of money, and it's NOT. Especially to someone with earning potential.

I realize the OP has put themself in a bind, but it's nothing insurmountable from what I've read. The OP was just asking for a way to earn money quickly, and I gave an honest way to do so.

Without luck or breaking the law, I can't think of any other way to earn quick money.

Again, not spending the money you do have on frivolous things will also help tremendously.

Thing about it is this: we aren't just talking 30k, it's 30k in federal debt.

Brief google showed in 2020 that was 5 percent per year compounded daily.

I do believe you can BK out of IRS debt but you can only do it if it wasn't a result of fraud which is true in OPs case

Many people have pointed out already, these may be difficult problems, but they're not insurmountable.

The IRS (assuming that's who you owe taxes to) will work out a plan with you. Even a settlement is not impossible. Student loans remain paused, but cn be addressed as well...consider public service.

If you can, consider getting help from a professional to give you the best plan to get back on track.
