I do not want to write a letter to a certain member of my family.

i need an excuse for this as I don't want the rest of my family wondering why I never sent that certain person a letter.

I'm currently thinking of saying the word document corrupted and I had to write a quick new letter just before I died, to explain why theirs will be so much shorter. I'm not sure how believable this is though.

This sounds mean/grim, but you'll be dead so it won't matter. Just be honest, don't write the letter. If you don't like that person, tell them. They can't yell at you if you aren't alive to hear it.

I don't care about the person's reaction. The person will be finding out my true feelings at a later date in secret.

I just want to spare my family some extra heartache by finding out why I didn't write a msg. But I understand the same logic may still apply 😂

I think that if this person doesn't receive a goodbye letter from you, and the absence of such a letter will appear "out of the norm" to others who you have left a letter for, then I think the "sentiment" (of not writing a letter to this person) is going to be understood by all no matter what excuse you come up with.

The only other thing I could come up with is to write just one letter (addressed to all of your family), and then mention each family member by name that you wish to say something to, and whatever you want to say to them, and just address the person with whom you don't want to write a letter to with a generality and something generic, maybe something familiar to everyone in your family, basically addressing this person in a "left-handed" way without actually naming them.

This could work, it would blend in with everything else I have to write in the letter too. I'll see what I can do, thanks!
