So I decided to just try partial hanging while I was a sobbing mess due to reasons.

At first I was glad because I wasn't gagging (I always gag when I attempt this for some reason). BUT a while ago instead of gagging, I suddenly couldn't hear anything, like...it was muffled. It was weird. Then I think I lost consciousness for a little while. So my question is, was that supposed to happen? Ahaha

It can affect your hearing, yes. Some people get ringing in their ears.
Ooohh! I was a bit shocked. The experience was soooo weird. I woke up with a bit of pain on my neck though ahahah it was very impulsive of me. Thanks for the reply dear stranger <3

You're welcome. When I tried partial I lost consciousness for a short while and it felt like I was daydreaming. When I came to I felt a bit confused because it was so quick I hadn't realised what had happened. How come you regained consciousness again?

Yes, it's completely normal. You are, after all, depriving your brain of oxygen. This can cause light-headedness, nausea(particularly in your throat), body/limbs numbness, EAR ringing or muffled sound, tunneled vision and/or purple/green colors, confusion and/or weird time perception, pain in your head(if it's done wrong...I'm guessing not so, in your case), etc...

Hopefully that helps you.

I'm sorry by the way that you're suffering so much. You're welcome to talk about why you were crying before, if you'd like. We support others emotionally too.

Also, did you attempt to ctb? Or were you practicing? I ask this because you WOKE up. If you're trying to practice, please be careful, as you may not survive next time.

Best wishes.

This made me happy for some reason! I was actually doing it correctly! And to be honest, I didn't know what my intention was before doing it. Maybe due to my intense emotions at that time. It's a good thing I woke up because I still have a lot of homework to finish ahahah

The experience was bizarre right??? It wasn't uncomfortable though. Hmm I wasn't sure of my intentions before and while I was doing the act. I was sobbing pretty hard, so a lot was going on inside my head. Tsk I promised myself not to ctb during random and impulsive moments. I'm very disappointed in myself ahahah

yes unfortuantly. I had a similar experience. It is important to be extremely careful when trying various methods if you are not sure about ctb at that time. Any lack of oxygen can effect the brain even if you don't die or pass out. I tried it once only about a minute and saw black spots but didn't quite lose consciousness. I was still dizzy for the next couples of days and tripped a few times. You should be fine tho

No, once you're in the process of dying you won't regain consciousness again unless the rope snaps or someone rescues you. If you get rescued there's a big chance you'll be in a vegetative state. I've watched hanging videos for research purposes and none of the people regained consciousness once they passed out and the convulsions started.

Can any of these effects be permanent even if you don't pass out?

Yes, it can affect your hearing.
As for me, when I tried it I felt a buzzing sound and my head about to explode! It was horrible!

Yes it feels like your head is swelling up and about to burst, fist of the north star style.

I guess it's possible, although I'm not a doctor. If you have heart problems, sometimes blood chokes can cause a heart attack FYI , due to triggering the vagus nerve, to the best of my knowledge.

It is very rare though. permanent hearing loss from this is rare too. I've never seen anyone mention this, out of all the people who practice hanging. Generally, the worst case is a headache, dizziness, and maybe some mental fuzziness(brain fog)for a few days. As long as the blood to your brain isn't cut off for too long, there's not really any permanent damage.

Best wishes.
