Just a couple hours ago I posted about wanting to give life a try. Now I feel like I wont succeed.
For context I got no job experience and I only completed 11th grade didnt finish 12th grade cuz I tried to kms so I didnt get my HS diploma.
Statistically speaking most people with no HS diploma but a GED end up getting less pay and less jobs. Some jobs may not even accept you.
And there is nothing you could do about it.

I really feel if I try to get a GED then try to get a job then I'll fail and end up with a low pay job and barely get anything to support myself.
How the fuck am I supposed to find hope in this world. I regret trying to kill myself I wish I had just stuck it out till I graduate.

Have you considered things like apprenticeships? Where you work and learn at the same time? Have you actually talked to people about your prospects? Recruitment agencies etc.

A friend left school at 16 to work in a travel agency, while the rest of us went on to A levels, college, university. I hold 2 BA degrees. I'd be willing to bet she earns more than me! I've known people working in retail jobs that had PhD's! So- education doesn't guarantee a good, high paying job.

I definitely appreciate your concerns though but then- I'm not sure it's something you can be sure about until you start trying for things/ talking to people. I tend to catastrophize too but, it doesn't really do us any favours.

I suppose I feel like the bigger issue is how much fight and resilience we have. Because it does take perseverance to apply for jobs, suffer rejections etc. If there's still hope to try though- it seems better to give it your very best shot. Not decide you've failed before you even started. I hope you do find sonething. Do you have much support around you? Family that will look at applications, CV's etc?

I am behind in a lot of areas. I don't have great social skills either. My interests used to be in law enforcement and computer science, but that's out of the question once you have a mental health record. I also lack experience in many things. You're right about the part where I actually have to try, but I'm just so scared of failure. I do have support, my family supports me, and I have a therapist. I spoke to her about getting a job, and she mentioned a program that helps people like me find one. I'll ask her about it later. Thank you, though.

I really hope the programme helps you. The major thing- I think- is at least you are willing. That ought to be nurtured and supported.

Funnily enough, my Dad worked with someone who was immensely talented. Probably better than anyone there. But- totally unreliable. A liability to employ so- they sacked him. So- there are several things employers need. Not just being extremely good or skilled.

It is horrible to be rejected or to struggle though. I do completely understand why it all feels so daunting. I've even struggled when I've gotten the job- if I'm honest. If I didn't seem to perform tasks well or quickly enough.

That programme does sound good though. If employers know from the start that a person may struggle in certain areas, hopefully there will be more leniency and support. Good luck!

What about construction or similar, it's hard work but pays loads.

I have considered that before. I am good with weights and heavy work, but I am not great at communicating. Even if I were, I genuinely have no idea how I would get into that line of work.
