Venting I like to be praised, am i selfish?

I know this is selfish but i always wanred to find one person who would praise me for trying my best at everything.And tell me im doing a good job. I know i am doing a good job but it would just be nice to hear it from another person other then...my mom and my dad. It feels like im not really doing a good job unless others confirm it for me. And often people dont think to tell me.
