Local Bitcoin is a service where vendors sell Bitcoin and below is a link that has instructions on how to buy Bitcoin on this exchange.

When I was buying Bitcoin I looked at how much the vendor wanted and then added something like $50 to $100, depending on the price of what I was buying, to cover fees.

I used Pay Pal and then put the difference back into my bank account.

You will need to buy more Bitcoin than what the price of the product you are purchasing with Bitcoin in order to cover fees, small site commission and shipping and handling.

Pay Pal charges small fees too.

Please be sure to look at the reviews left for the vendor in question and make sure that they get good feedback, as close to 100% as possible.

Here's a Bitcoin currency conversion calculator.

But, as I said, please look at the product you want to buy and all the fees associated with it and look at the fees your Bitcoin provider charges.

Also - important! - you will be expected to keep a minimum amount of Bitcoin in your wallet so you will need to figure that amount into how Bitcoin you buy as well.

You don't want to calculate your product purchase down to the penny only to realize that you've come up short.

Thank you for this info, toforgivelife. I have often wondered about this and the dark web sellers, but was unsure where to start.

Please take all fees into consideration before you purchase.

Wishing you well, best of luck.

You are very welcome.

I hope this information helps.

There are more articles and videos out there but I know buying Bitcoin can be confusing.

You can go to a site called Dark Fail in order to find dark web sellers.

When buying your product - important! - check that the vendor you are buying from gets excellent feedback, and - please! - make sure that their customers are happy with the vendor's stealth.

Stealth is how your personal information in protected.
Good stealth also ensures that your product will not be detected and that it will arrive safely.

Again, you're welcome my friend.

It can take a little while to absorb but you'll get the hang of it. If druggies can figure it out so can you - lol!

Oh - important! - you'll need to download the Tor browser in order to access these markets. Tor gives you anonymity.

The Tor browser is legal, it's free and can be downloaded through Android, they have it in their Play Store, and you can download it using a laptop or desktop. Just Google "Tor browser".

I don't want you to go, but it is your personal decision to make. And sometimes just knowing that you have the option can be a big comfort.

All my best to you.

paxful is easier and i would argue a little safer than localbitcoins. yeah monero is technically anonymous or more anonymous than btc, but if somebody were determined to uncover your identity, you're likely to leave some other traces behind you using a windows OS system anyway. so i wouldnt worry about that, btc is generally easier to use and more accessible it's good enough.

@toforigivelife you were charged all those fees because sellers dont feel safe getting paid by paypal, so they have to charge extra. and it's for good reason. if you pay by wire or using other online methods you will get much better rates.

FYI you DO NOT need bitcoin to purchase N from D. You can send the cash via Western Union. You go to the nearest Western Union and give them cash and they can send it to him. YOu just need to tell D that is how you want to pay and he will send you further instructions.

@toforigivelife Hi. I'm just curious.... Why must you keep a minimum amount in your wallet? Is it a term of the exchange?

I'm glad you clarified that. No, dark web vendors don't accept payments from PayPal.

I would use PayPal to the sellers on Local Bitcoin for Bitcoins, or I would use PayPal to deposit funds into my Local Bitcoin wallet in order to pay for the coins.

I'm not really sure.

It could have something to do with the way cryptocurrency wallets work or it could be just another way that these site make a little extra money off of their customers.

I don't remember ever being reimbursed for the Bitcoins I bought after closing a wallet or an account.

Ah ok. So in those circumstances they wouldn't reimburse when you close your wallet/account because they can't access it as far as I'm aware. Not without you confirming the transaction. That money ends up floating in the blockchain rather than going back to the exchange provider. That's how I inderstand it but maybe I'm wrong. I think in that situation though you need to cash it out or transfer it to either a hard wallet or soft wallet that isn't within the exchange. I suppose a lot of the exchanges have very varied rules due to the wild west nature of all things crypto but that's definitely been reigned in a bit over the last few years. More regulation going on. The whole know your customer thing.

Thank you for this information, this is good to know.

You have more knowledge than I do about how these things work.

nautilus, the OP of this thread, is a Bitcoin beginner and is a little overwhelmed by what they need to learn. I hope, for their sake, that you'll lend them a hand.

I'm going to go check my btc account. So thanks again my friend.

Well I know a little but not as much is it may appear. I'm not particularly experienced. I haven't used exchanges myself. I'm happy to offer advice if I have it though. There are many elements of crypto currencies that I have no idea about. I did a load of reading on it a good while back and had a small amount of btc on a hard wallet gifted to me so never had to go through the whole process of buying it.

What seemed important from what I learned was to always keep your crypto in hard storage. Meaning on a device with no connection to the internet. If its just a small amount that you intend to use immediately then you don't need to do that but it's still best to keep it out of the hands of 3rd parties where possible. You can download various wallet apps to a pc, tablet or phone. It's better to keep it on a device that has as little interaction with the internet as possible and ideal without other apps etc unless you're quite savvy about your privacy and security settings. Even then it's far from fool proof.
Always make sure you triple check addresses and numbers etc. There's no taking it back once you send it.
Choose transaction fees of medium to high if you want your transaction to go through quickly otherwise you can wait days if using cheap transaction fees. The transaction fee goes to the miners who keep the blockchain ticking over. They will gravitate to transactions with higher fees naturally and the fees are pretty reasonable even when 'high'.

Hopefully that's of use.
