I used to set a goal where I need to survive to this point in my life. Have done that in my childhood as a type of goal to keep going. Have done this with college a job, etc. Now I am having such a hard time finding a job. I have started to do the if I don't find a reason to live in X amount of time I will CTB. I have more than what I need to do it. Saw this film which describes it very well:

Here is a good read if you need an assertive way of looking at it, no emotional pandering. It's an article from a doctor who's primary specialization is his experience with working with suicidal patients. Having a deadline and postponing it is a good technique for self reflection.

kind of not exactly CS but close. Have a good resume enough to get my foot in the door in any place but its rare they hire for my speciality.
