I'm so exhausted. I want to die, but I'm afraid of leaving my siblings with trauma. There's a part of me that wants to attempt just to be taken seriously.

That being said, if I were to take probably 15-20 pills of escitalopram (I think the dose is 5-10mg? I'd have to look.), what would happen?

i wouldn't recommend overdosing, it has a high percentage of survival if its anything other than dangerous drugs (fent). also if you survive, you might have failing organs due to the destruction caused by the high dosage of pills.

as for your siblings, either you don't do it, or you don't do it in front of them/somewhere they can find you.

That makes sense. I mostly just want to be taken seriously because it feels like I'm going to have to do something drastic to finally get people to understand that I'm not able to front anymore. Thank you for your advice.

unethical life tip, if you have a sort of list of things you want to ask for or change you can prepare that, and then you have other ways of making an ultimatum. you can sit in the same spot and refuse to move until you get the help you need (with ur list of demands). you can stay in bed and refuse to get up until you get the help you need.

i know someone who said 'i'll slit my wrists right in front of you' in order to get admitted to the hospital to get the help he needed. you are right in thinking that something needs to change. there are other ideas other than attempting, because that could be dangerous.

i attempted too, but because it wasn't 'serious enough', i ended up not being taken seriously anyways. you run the risk of that as well. so try other methods first.

Don't try overdosing on escitalopram, you won't die (or at least not the way you are expecting. IF in the very low chance you could die, it could take days, weeks or even months; not mentioning you could survive with sequelae like brain damage and other stuff).

I am going to take a lot of shit from other members for this. While I find noble that you care about your siblings... I don't think you should ctb if they are minors, that certainly will give them trauma. I'm not trying to make you feel guilty, you said you didn't want to give them trauma...

I'll look more into that instead, then, thank you.

I understand you aren't trying to make me feel guilty, don't worry. I asked for advice and you're giving it. Thank you!

What may happen is you wake up in a psychiatric facility. OD is very low in "success". About 14%.
You may cause organ damage & further suffering.
I hope you find peace but am afraid your choice of CTB isn't an effective choice.
Blessings 🌹💔

You've said some conflicting things so I'm not quite sure what you want to do. If you are trying to get help, I don't think attempting is a good idea. You might succeed or cause severe damage to yourself. If this is what you're trying to do, maybe set up a time to talk to the person whose attention you're trying to get. Something along the lines of "when you get a chance, could I talk to you? It's serious."

If you are trying to go, my understanding is that picking a random drug to overdose on is pretty ineffective and may just cause severe damage without death. I think this is probably not the right method if you are trying to go.
