I just tried strangling myself

I was trying to find my cartoriod arteries and I kept gagging. It was really weird.
Has this happened to anyone else?

It was very tricky when I tried and I got to a stage where I thought maybe it was just me and the way I was built, I just couldn't get that pesky artery and would only result in that terrible head pressure situation where I wanted out...however one day I did manage to compress it out of sheer luck and began to faint.

If your gagging then I would have thought your putting too much pressure on the windpipe/throat. your looking at pressing more on the sides. Your not crushing the windpipe, or putting pressure on the area around it. Hope this helps.

I used to do it as a self harm thing a lot and when I was extremely pissed off at myself I managed to nearly faint when I was strangling myself but it was all in a fit of blind stupid rage.

I was trying last night and the same thing happened to me. It's really hard to find it.....I think I got some of it once cause my vision was going but still had pressure in my head.

it took me a while to find the right set up but i finally got it down. i couldn't do the pillow and ratchet thing successfully i just cant find the sweet spot. i am using a thick t-shirt wrapped around my neck to prevent pain from the cord. then i looped the cord over my door btw im using a thin cord.( then close the door) with a looped knot on the other side. i tested it by slowly lowering my self to my knees. and after 5-10 seconds of my head feeling like it was going to explode i became in a state of stupor and almost dreamy and went unconscious for a few seconds before i leaned back unconsciously and woke up confused. i am pretty sure hanging is the most peaceful way to go. i am just worried if i will wake up in the middle of it panicking or if i will feel the pangs of struggling to breathe and not being able to move. its a hard thing to go through with because of the doubts it will be 99% effective. im going to keep testing other methods of suspension hanging though
