People with depression score higher on tests of realism. Intelligence is positively correlated with mental illness and suicide. What this indicates is that if the mind understands too much about reality, it wants to destroy itself. Human life is existential horror.
What do you think?

I think it depends a lot on your upbringing and life circumstances in general, but, definetely intelligence making you think more, see things more clearer and deeper and that's not always great regarding life in general. If you were cursed with a bad childhood or life I think it makes it worse but at the same time better because you are able to search for solutions, try to understand things etc.

As I conclusion, I would say that intelligence, the really big one is more of a curse than a blessing.

I wish you nothing but the best

I'm in this state, pondering every moment, why am I bothering putting a face on to interact with the world. Unless the world sorts its shit out now, I want no part in it. It's heading more like Westworld with control.

I think is true, most of the humankind never stopped to think what's the real meaning of our lifes, but if you are smart enough you will discover that literally nothing that you can do will be remembered on the pass of time, and also, even the destruction of all humankind will mean nothing to the rest of the universe. That truth is strong enough to make you want to kill yourself because everything is meaningless, so most of peaple just ignore it.

Edit:
By the way, that is one of the reasons of my depression.

I think there's definitely truth in this even though I think it also has to do with ignorance.
There are smart people that are also insanely ignorant about a lot of things
And I feel like the most ignorant people are also more happy/less depressed just living in their on little bubble

I wouldn't call it "intelligence." there are happy people who are very intelligent on a practical level in certain facets. The theme is rather that people who stop to reflect on everything and wonder about the meaning of life. It is rather philosophy that saddens, the critical questioning of things. The happiest people are those who follow a routine without stopping to think about things

Less a matter of raw intelligence and more one of introspection and intellectual courage. Lots of intelligent people who keep to the grind and avoid looking too deep like the plague, and lots of people of limited intellect who grapple with life's mysteries and injustices despite an inability to frame those frustrations in the most elegant terms. You probably know an abundance of both types

Yes, thats correct i think. IQ and suicidal feelings are positively correlated. As you get smarter, the more you learn about this world, including the bad things and this ultimately leads up to you despising existence because you're aware of all the things going on. People with down syndrome aren't like this because they're not smart enough to realize the awful things that happen on a daily basis. So, in conclusion, when the mind is exposed to negativity in the present society, this leads to wanting to leave from this world.

I'm depressed and suicidal but I don't think I'm intelligence at all. I don't know much about life and stuff, I just see no meaning to it

I don't really see this as being something horrifying, I think that wanting to die certainly is a logical response to having awareness of the reality of existing here, I really do think that seeing existence as being something that causes harm, is futile and dreadful is just being realistic and not being blinded by delusions. I don't understand how anyone could desire existence in the first place, it's the ultimate cause of all suffering after all, I would always prefer to not exist.

Plenty of unintelligent people become depressed and suicidal too. Intellectually blessed people don't have exclusive experience of these things.

I know in my case the two are definitely related. I'm an autistic savant who suffers with so many issues physical and mental that stop me from reaching my potential. I am very aware of myself and the state of the world which makes existence painful, if I think about it too much I spiral into a suicidal depression.

Maybe I truly am just a Narcissist, but I agree with this. I see everything clearly, I see what others can't. People see beauty in places such as beaches, I see it for what it is, 'sand', 'water', and 'rocks'. I see things for how they truly are while everyone else is blinded. I see everyone as just NPCs. it's so obvious how they act, what they are going to do or say next, it's so predictable. Whether I am book smart or not, the fact that I understand humans and life more than most, I believe that make me highly intelligent, and the fact that I can easily trick others with an act, and they believe my act is the "real" me, shows how cunning I am. Apologees for the rant.

Intelligence is also correlated with loneliness. In an increasingly lonely world.... It separates you from the pack. Once on the outside you are screwed. People don't really help people.

Many stop to think you know, just that is seems to be a lot of placing faith in a belief system that keeps people thinking one way.

Same here. It sucks. You realize how little anyone cares.
